NY Union urges registration and voting

My husband works for a Manhattan-based retailer which is a division of an international chain. All of his hourly workers are union members, as are the distribution center employees. Last night, when I picked him up at the train station, before he even greets me, he says, "You'll never guess what my kids (all his employees are well under half his age and call him 'Dad' - LOL) got in their company mail today!" He's all excited and grinning, so I can't even fathom a guess. He says, "The union sent a note to every member telling them that it was mandatory that they register and vote. And Jasmine hands the paper to me, and what do I see but Barack's picture."

From what he said, it doesn't explicitly say anything like "Go vote for Barack Obama," but it does have a good paragraph on how he's a great choice if you believe in union rights. He gave the paper back to his employee, because it listed instructions on how to make sure you're registered, etc.

Hooray!

I wish hubby had thought to make a copy, so I could have read the piece on POTUS. From what he recalled, it sounds like they were making a "strong recommendation" but didn't want people to perceive it as strong-arming.
