you are on Social Security and test positive for drugs you will be exempt from benefits.

Kick 'em while they're down.

The advocates for small Government, and the party that hates Government "interference" want to drug test , and force people to get a GED just because they lost their job. That is messed up in so many ways~~

They're public employees. Of all, they should certainly be drug-tested. I think that would turn up the worst abuses.

Why shouldn't people that are getting A free ride have to hold the same standards as people
who have to work to provide for themselves?

"The most important piece of legislation regulating Federal contractors/grantees is the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988. This Act requires any organization that receives a Federal contract worth $100,000 or more, to establish a drug-free workplace policy. It also requires all organizations receiving a Federal grant of any size to maintain such a policy."
