This could be a game-changer for my campaign, with your help.

The Oregon state senator in my district resigned, as of yesterday.

http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2012/09/oregon_sen_frank_morse_shocks.html

This was a shock to the legislature, as he has been a very moderate and statesman-like Republican who's taken some courageous positions on LBGT rights and tuition equity for children of undocumented residents, among other issues.

My opponent http://www.friendsofandyolson.com, according to many observers, is the heir apparent to this seat and is likely to be appointed within the next 30 days - although his name will remain on the ballot in my house race. I have a one-time chance, with the right media buy at the right time, to let citizens know that their vote for me will prevent commissioners in a neighboring county from selecting their state rep from among an unknown pool of applicants.

We need a $5000 radio buy within the next 5 days to secure a messaging spot and take advantage of this situation.

I hope you'll visit http://www.rongreen.org and help in a generous way toward this goal.

Thank you.

Romney's campaign, some DUers might find a bit more room in their budgets to help.

I'm posting on DU only about once a week so I don't wear out my welcome, but obviously I still want the big contributions.

partly out of guilt that I can't contribute money and partly
because I deeply believe in Oregon even though I don't live there.
