Romney letter is proof that he’s not of this world

Love this letter from a school teacher in Hawaii:

The Maui News

Like everyone else on Maui, I got a lot of election mailings. One in particular made a real impression. It was addressed to me personally, "Dear Judith," and signed "Mitt." The four-page letter included an invitation to become a Romney Victory Founding Member with a donation of only $50,000. This would have entitled me to be admitted to the Republican National Convention where I would have had an "opportunity to witness history."

I've thought for a while that Mr. Romney was out of touch with the mood of our country and the needs of our people. His letter to this retired schoolteacher makes me wonder if he isn't living in some kind of alternate universe, populated entirely with people like the Koch brothers and Donald Trump, and the rest of his friends who think that $50,000 is small change.

like this about Mitt, Ann, and Paul Ryan, about how out of touch they are on economics, work, women's rights over their own bodies, and what hypocrites they are.

'cuz everyone who lives in Maui, must be rich and Republican. Lord knows real estate prices have done a great job of pushing off everybody else off the island.

I don't know why, when I was in my young 20s raising a family with three sons, I didn't just start a business like a shopping mall or an oil refinery instead of punching a clock and putting in eight to ten hours on the afternoon shift at the auto plant. If only I knew forty years ago what Mitt knows now.

I was so stupid that this great American dream somehow eluded me. LOL.

Mitt did concede that it was a lot of money. I guess that was his nod to the facts of life for regular people.

Edited to add that nothing about us--not our neighborhood, not our magazine subscriptions, not our buying habits, and certainly not our bank account--could have explained our being on his mailing list. We're both registered Democrats, it should almost be unnecessary to add. So it was quite a surprise to get Mitt's little request. I wonder how much money they wasted on completely useless mailings lists if they were scraping the bottom of the barrel to get us.

fourteen year old daughter! They are all staunch Dems and find it hilarious that not only are they wasting money on a deep-blue Democrat but one that won't even be able to vote for four years.

Maybe your neighbor's daughter can think of something to send them if they write to her again.

17. And yet, Romney has not donated a single penny to his own campaign.

But with friends like his, why should he?
He's not going to flush his own money down the porcelain throne in November.

this should settle it for them.....Rmoney has no clue what we are going through in the trenches, and never will.

We couldn't have funded a better mailing ourselves if we tried!
