In a season two episode of West Wing, Shibboleth, Leo McGarry requested that his sister disqualify herself from a cabinet appointment because years earlier she had called a reporter to capture the image of the state arresting and handcuffing two praying high school students.
Leo: “we have laws..and they are difficult and they have to be enforced… and it’s right that they are enforced,” he said: “But we do not strut… EVER.”
Nancy Pelosi reminded me of that moment today when she gave her caucus "the look."
