And it's not just because I like the black eyed peas. He was referencing their hit song "I have a feeling."

If that's the pasty-faced white guy on the screen at the moment. Yeah, that's him. His record is air and smoke and mirrors, methinks.

whose song was playing as he was coming on stage.

Kasich may be an asshole, but I don't think that comment was intended to be racist.

Tons of broccoli were dumped on the White House sidewalks. Maybe someone who can afford it will send 1000 Black Eyed Peas CDs to the Ohio Governor's mansion.

I took it as a racial slur because I've never heard of "Black-Eyed Peas". I only listen to the Top 40, with Bach, Mozart, and over 38 others.

These pop culture references escape me.

Still, it was at least a wink at a racism. Plus, you ignore the fact that they played the fucking "Black-Eyed Peas" to set up the fucking joke.

"How can I say something that seems a little racist but if anybody points it out I have a good excuse so the person accusing me seems like a crazy person looking for any opportunity to accuse an innocent white man of racism? Oh I know...I'll make my entrance to a Black Eyed Peas song and then make a special point about how I don't like them."

This is what a lot of racism looks like. Snide little comments that you can't prove.

Kasish is a master race baiter. Right after coming into office he just about started a race war in the state.

Probably a dog whistle. As is the case with these things, we can never really prove it, that's why it is called a dog whistle.
