Anybody Wanna Calm Me Down And Help With An Unformed Theory, Re: Todd Akin ???

For years I've shaken my head and watched in horror as politicians of the right started coming to the view of no abortion, EVEN in the case of rape, incest, and the life of the mother.

Now I can see Tony Perkins, Mike Huckabee, Pat Robertson, and even the departed Jerry Falwell calling for such a thing, but what I cannot understand is how ANYBODY in elected office could support such a view.

But then it hit me today...

Because of ALL THESE ASSHOLES propaganda and politics, and murders of abortion providers, and making it almost impossible to get a legal abortion in some states...

The last remaining barrier in their "True Believing" way was... rape, incest, and the life of the mother.

And you'd think in a sane society, that that's where it would rest.

BUT THESE ASSHOLES are such "True Believers", that they think that BECAUSE they have severely limited a woman's CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to choose... that they think women in severely restricted areas will claim rape just to get the procedure.

Therefore... by their fucked up reasoning... the new threat to the "Pro-Lifers", is that women WILL CLAIM they were raped in order to have the procedure done.

Therefore... illegitimate rape v. legitimate rape.

So... if I were a political strategist from the Dem/Left side of the aisle...

I'd ask EVERY tea-party/Fascist/GOP fuckwad...

"So do you side with Todd Akin ??? Do you think that women who tell you they were raped are not legitimate ???"

Make 'em ALL own it !

And thanks for any refinements to my pissed off screed.

Look at how conservatives go after welfare recipients. They would rather see not a one skate by even if that means honest claimants go unhelped. And besides, they will then say the government shouldn't be helping in the first place; that's what religious charity is for.

The problem is, we have too many fundies that want this crap. They do not care who they have to kill to control women.

13. BUT... There You Have The Split In The GOP...

The GOP establishment raised billions of dollars over the decades funding various "Pro - Life" candidates, yet when they had ALL branches of government...

They never quite managed to finish the job of getting rid of Roe v. Wade.

That's because the establishment did not want to.

That's because it was a better donation generator, vote turn-outer than any other issue.

But actually getting rid of Roe v. Wade ???

Wasn't gonna happen. It was far better to keep it as an "issue".

After the "True Believer" Right figured this out...

Behold the birth of the Tea Party !

And now... they will all inherit the wind...

15. It has always been this way. You just now realize this?

It's always been the case that the pro-lifers' position is that women will "claim" rape, when they haven't been raped, and that doctors will "say" the woman's life is in danger, when it's not.

To their way of thinking, it is better than two women die from not getting a needed abortion, then two babies get aborted from fake doctor declarations.

But you know, a woman doesn't have to claim rape to get an abortion. Abortion is legal during the first trimester, at least. That's when most abortions occur, anyway.

women KNOW..when i was young, men were always hitting on me..married, old, young..we spend our young lives ducking it..waltzing around the inevitable proposition of some type. Once I was in Mexico, kidnapped and raped...for dancing. I loved to dance. I got caught up in the plot of a few men and in my youthful naivete, missed the danger signals. For years, I wondered if I had been dancing too provocatively when I innocently attracted the attention of the miserable sobs. I was dancing in a club in the 70's, when dancing didn't even come close to the physical acrobatics that the kids now do. Afterwards, I discovered that one was the son of a judge so justice was not going to happen and I should just be on my psychologically injured way. It's been more than 3 decades, and the anger that I have for Akin is almost visible. Its like walking in a field of land mines. We all have stories. I don't know a woman who doesn't have a story ..we don't talk about it that much, we just know and we know because almost all of us have been in a frightening situation...usually more than one. Akin is a jerk and I think he should experience the horror of rape before he opens his big stupid moronic mouth.

I remember driving my freshman dorm friend to another state to get an abortion after she was date raped during our first few months away at college. I was 18 years old and the memory of that experience haunts me to this day. Yes, it was legal to perform that operation in New York at those offices which were not drs offices and did not feel safe and secure to me much less sanitary. Then I drove my friend back over the state line with instructions given to me for what she needed to do in the next 48 hours in order to have children again, I was scared. I remember being scared for her life as she layed on the seat next to me groaning. I was a kid in charge of my kid friend. We don't want to return to those barbaric times. Ignorant men should stay out of womens lives as they haven't a clue..and will never have a clue.
