Every time I hear (paid spokesmodel) Fred Thompson doing those AAG commercials for reverse mortgages, I have to chuckle at the irony. Good ol' Fred, conservative darling that he is, touts, as one of the good points in favor of the AAG reverse scheme is that it is "government insured." Freddy, Freddy, Freddy . . . . according to your clubhouse mates, we do need no stinkin' gubmint.
