The body of a burned cat and a message directed to President Barack Obama were found in Longfellow Park, federal officials said.
Minneapolis police, the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service and other agencies responded to the message a parks employee found Monday, Aug. 13, near the Longfellow Park and Recreation Center, a voting location used in Tuesday's primary election.

Man...this is just sick. But it shows you who we are up against.

(14,177 posts)I don't understand the need to murder a cat to send a political message. Well I don't have words for how sick this is. I don't think the neighborhood is going to just sit back and be ok with this. It will probably drive even more democrats to the polls. I still don't see a bright side though even if it does get more people out to vote. Just a sad sad commentary on how nuts conservatives are.

(13,468 posts)I really hate people who harm innocent animals. I'm getting sick of this kind of thing. There need to be some laws with teeth concerning animal abuse.

(28,498 posts)I wonder if it was a "black cat" (the article didn't specify). It would be in keeping with the right-wing's racist symbolism.
