Romney just lost control of his campaign

I am watching A Romney rally on CNN and Ryan is doing all the talking. Romney is sitting in the corner wincing with a forced smile, looking like a whipped puppy. He did what the rncleadership commanded him to do and he knows any control he used to have is now owned by Grover nor quits and Paul Ryan.

Rmoney is running on his 'business' background, so he picked someone that doubles down on trickle down? My mind is still blown over this choice. I would have bet hard cold cash against Ryan over someone who can shore up areas where Rmoney has even failed his own base (and trickle down is the one thing they do approve of).

Its Palin 2.0 - red meat to shore up the base that he should have had by default. Here's hoping history repeats itself on that strategy.

You Can’t Believe Most of the Quotes You Read On the Internet.
-Abraham Lincoln

Here's one place where the source of the quote you use is discussed: http://quoteinvestigator.com/2010/05/17/remain-silent/

No offense intended. It doesn't matter to me where it came from -- the way you used it fits perfectly.

It just bugs me when more noise is added to the already low signal-to-noise ratio for information on quotes.

Edit: link from post above sheds light. Exact quote appears to be from a book authored by Maurice Switzer in 1907, but sayings of a similar vein go all the way back to Proverbs.

In short, he is not the idiot gift that was Sarah Palin.

It's been scripted by Norquist and Co. since Day One.

Mitt may have thought he didn't have to answer to anyone because the polls were close, especially with independent voters. But between his "ugly American" Olympics jaunt and losing his independent edge by refusing to show his tax returns, he is now trailing, and NOT by a cheatproof margin. That's why he has to jump through their hoops now: accepting delivery on VP Paul Ryan is just the beginning...

Ignore Rmoney completely. Make like he's irrelevant, just a figurehead not worthy of even mentioning. Go after Ryan and the teabaggers who installed him on ticket. Make this about Ryan, whose budget now defines the Rmoney campaign.

We can run a campaign on 2 fronts. I think one factor in picking Ryan for VP candidate was to take the heat off Rmoney for awhile.

I say keep the pressure on Rmoney about Bain and tax returns while applying heat to Ryan over his budget plan..

This punk (Ryan) is sorta good lookin' in a boyish sort of way. Not saying he is god's gift or anything. Just that he does have a certain boyish good looks. No secret why that matters to the Repubs. They are hoping to lure in young folks, especially the young WOMEN into their tent....purely on his looks. ('Cause if they spend two seconds looking at their policies, they will run like the dickens in the other direction.) But that boyish charm might get their attention.

And yeah, I know about the Eddie Munster thing....but the ladies they are appealing to probably don't know who that is.

Bush Junior could talk with people, give a speech or handle walking into a diner or a coffee shop--and making small talk. Yes, he had his major screw ups--but generally he could walk upright without shitting himself.

Romney cannot do any of that. I think the man is coming unglued at the seams. The pressure of being hounded about his tax returns, and his two-week international trip from Hades has stressed him to the max.

I think the Ryan announcement was made because they had no choice. Romney is unraveling.

If Romney looks weak compared to Ryan, then well--ROMENY LOOKS WEAK!

These idiots do not understand anything about running a campaign and they sure as hell are oblivious to reality.

"Hi I'm Mitt Romney and I cannot give a speech, form complete thoughts or get through a day without behaving like a total toolbag. So, I'm going to just sit here like an idiot while my running mate takes the reigns."

Yeah. What a brilliant strategy. Weaken Romney even further.

he is the hand that would sign the legislation..

Republicans have had a pyramid of power for a while now.. The top piece is a screw-on/interchangeable piece. The support under the top-piece is run by the Adelsons/Kochs/etc, and the lobbyists/industries who own the party..

The only thing they need is for every few years, to have the "faithful" get all juiced up over guns, gods, gays or abortion..and then to run to the voting booth to keep the libruls from takin' over..

OR.. are they going to use this as an excuse why Romney is gonna bow out??? hate to be a conspiracy theorist type, but what if they're working this to say that Romney is ill, and Ryan is taking over?

On the flip side, people voting for Romney better be very very happy with Ryan, if it seems that Romney is not up to this job physically.
