(8,694 posts)"Here is a quick bio on Ryan - what's interesting to me is that he only has a bachelor's degree. While that's not, in the modern era it's not at all uncommon for presidential candidates to have gone to graduate school as well (though, as the GOP now has disdain for a college education, per Rick Santorum, this likely won't hurt Ryan with the Republican minions).
This also means that Ryan's supposed "expertise" in economics and budgeting comes from undergrad courses in economics. Milton Friedman he ain't. "

(16,254 posts)They seem to put down any Dem who is highly educated...calls them elite. Obama is too highfalutin for them, but not smart enough to give a speech without a teleprompter.
I don't notice them saying anything about Romney or other Pugs using one. Double standards, I guess.

(16,254 posts)They are discussing/comparing Rand/Ryan, in that Rand was an atheist and Ryan is a Catholic, but if he adopts the Randian theory, will he also adopt her ways along religious lines...something like that.
They aren't thrilled. They are wondering how we will use Ryan to put down Romney's election (as if Romney wasn't enough meat). They were glad it was announced on Saturday and that the Olympics are still going on, so there won't be so much discussion of the pick.
They mentioned that a lot of Repugs walked away from his budget, so why would Repugs vote for it.
All in all, the segments I read were not that WooHoo! In fact, they weren't excited at all that I could see, although I just read the one page that popped up. I didn't explore.
