Old Republicanism is dead too.
It just died with McCain.
Ike, Nixon, Ford, Reagan and two Bush's and Dole, McCain, Romney, everything they stood for as leaders of this country.
Gone.
Their stated ideals and values have been cremated since Jan. 2017 by Trump and the current GOP's lack of backbone to stand up to him so just throw them inside McCain's casket and bury them.
They are now history.

(10,721 posts)Their rhetoric and policy over the last 50 years led directly to the rise of Trump. They've moved the Overton Window so far that batshit crazy is mainstream, while the likes of Collins and the late McCain are considered "moderate." It's really quite insane this society of ours.
