Mary C. Kirchhoff says if same sex marriage is allowed anyone who disagrees will be charged with 'hate speech' sic and put in jail and their kids sent to foster homes
"Picture this: an eleven-year-old child attends a public school. One day at school, her teacher overhears her talking to a friend. The child is telling her friend that her mom believes marriage should be between a man and a woman. Because of laws now in place, the teacher must get the principal, and the child is taken to the office.
The mother is tracked down at her job and arrested. The childs father is away on business and cannot get back immediately; there is no one around to take care of the young girl, so the child is put in temporary custody with a foster parent until suitable arrangements can be made for her care."
The RW taliban are never going to give in on this issue. Same sex marriage rights are a red herring to religious bigots. They want to make sure that gays go back to having no rights at all.

No, they aren't.
In the same way, they won't be arrested for being homophobes. They might get called out over it more often someday. It might become something not said in polite society, no matter what your personal feelings are, as with racism. Maybe that's what they're really afraid of.

(2,286 posts)Ask her to cite, chapter and code, what specifically those laws are. Are they state of federal? Have her cite an actual incident in which this happened. I'm sure the response will be crickets. Also, not sure why the mother would be arrested but the father would somehow get the girl if he wasn't away on business.
And if she is saying this *could* happen, we also could imagine a variety of scenarios. Picture this: A teach discovers a student lives in the home with two same-sex parents. She must notify the principal as required by law. Both parents are arrested because homosexuality is illegal and the child is put into a "Christian" home in which the father does not spare the rod for fear of spoiling the child.
That is MY nightmare if these Christo-fascists gain full control.

except, the only place I have found the " 11 christians arrested at Philly Outfest" is on Sites run by fundamentalist hate-mongers such as yourself. Anybody have a real media link to the story?
Is this silly story supposed to "rile" us? Are you looking for some quotes to stir up your political base?
Here is one:
I believe that there is a creator to this existence, but that He\she \it is unknowable. There are no "revealed writings". You can believe what you want, but in my opinion you have wasted your life .
If you have used those "writings " as a reason to love your fellow man, I would say it was life well spent. However, you obviously believe that the bible tells you to hate; therefore your life = waste of time.
When you look in the mirror, you know that the hatred, pain and suffering that people like you cause is wrong.
deep down, you know the hatred is wrong...

Politicalboi
(15,189 posts)It's NOT a lifestyle choice. The reason your daughter isn't going to these events could be she doesn't want to make her mother (you) look like she raised a gay daughter. She knows how much "christians" hate the gays. She probably heard you or your church shout it from the rooftops. If you had a great relationship with her, you would join her in marches. But what would the church people say????? LOL!
