"She always wrote what we told her."

Last edited Tue May 14, 2024, 03:08 PM - Edit history (1)

I'MYOURHUCKLEBERRY @PLSgetserious
It looks like everyone who called out the NYT was right about Maggie Haberman and her complicity in Trump's crime regime. "She always wrote what we told her." I expect a heartfelt apology from the New York Times for printing rapist Trump's propaganda.

Sarah Reese Jones @PoliticusSarah
Texts introduced as evidence at Trump’s criminal trial show Maggie Haberman acting as Trump’s stenographer and media puppet.

Trump and the GOP have made the media their propaganda arm.
They probably used carrot and stick to do it.

Especially after Trump had access to CIA operatives who would get profiles on anyone for him.

Probably part of what was in those boxes he would not let go of.

Not all of them of course.

I said this from the beginning, some of it is material he can use against other people.

But the blackmail stuff is personal for Trump, that is why he cannot let it go.
It is worth a lot to him on many levels.

Yes he had access to friendly CIA and FBI agents.
And access to any information about people he wanted.

One major source - especially for Trump and the Repugs - is Isreal's Pegasus spyware, which is embedded in most, if not all, mediasphere phones (to say nothing of politicians and executives).

And their findings are routinely shared with AIPAC and/or otherwise leaked (that's how they got that dummy, Tony Wiener - and by extension Hillary).

Before getting to that point though, a courtesy phone call will often be made to "smooth things over" - a tactic Trump (as Lindsey knows so well) likewise shares.

I think she was singularly responsible for keeping the Hillary email nonsense alive. She kept it a thing through October. It was long enough for Comey to put a nail in Hillary's campaign coffin with his be afraid of the emails false alarm letter.

So, we can thank her for a Trump presidency.

We also learned about the oft-told fables of the entire Rubenstein family: including, how Howard got his start, and how his sons would later join the family business. We found links to the Lauders and ostensibly to Arthur Finkelstein - a GOP strategist, who apprenticed under Roy Cohn and worked with both Paul Manafort and Roger Stone.

This dig definitely delivered - so much so that we are still sorting through it all. Rest assured, we will bring you everything that we find.

But for now - for the purposes of understanding the powerful influence Howard Rubenstein’s firm has over the media and journalism, let’s focus on more recent events.

Today, Howard no longer officially works for Donald. That baton – at least for Trump’s business brand, has been passed on to his son Richard’s PR firm. Howard and Donald do, however, maintain a 'mutually beneficial relationship'. When Howard was asked recently to comment on Trump, he certainly had nothing bad to say. PR gonna PR. Right, Nancy?

But the Rubenstein firms’ ties and access to the Trump administration don’t stop with the Trumps. JARED KUSHNER is another high-profile Rubenstein client. And Jared’s relationship with Howard appears far more intimate.

Jared is reportedly so close to Rubenstein, that it was Howard who Jared turned to when his father, Charles Kushner, was sent to federal prison (convicted in 2005 for illegal campaign donations, witness tampering, and tax evasion). That sounds like a close relationship, doesn’t it?

Imagine if this had been Biden or Hillary. The scandal would rock the country if it was anyone other than Trump.

As a candidate and as a President, Trump and his team had editorial control over a high profile writer for the NY Times. They also had editorial and veto power at the National Enquirer. THIS IS NOT OK!!! This is not business as usual and another shoulder shrug at another Trump outrage. Parts of the media being under direct control of the president is not what America is supposed to have.

Is it any wonder Trump won? He had control over key parts of the media and played the rest of it like a fiddle. And he's still doing it. Who else does he have on his payroll right now?

Being a stenographer to power rather being a journalist that speaks truth to power has been going on for a very long time. But the NYT and “journalists” like Maggie Haberman are among the reasons why the people don’t trust the MSM.

The New York Times has gained a reputation for fake news and are often on the MAGA side.

But right, left, or center—we are all the lesser for it.

The Gray Lady is not worthy of our trust.
