Be prepared for wall to wall coverage of Afghanistan for the next few weeks.

US MSM new coverage and their "opinion"

Delta variant ravages across the US threatening the live and well being of all citizens. old news. secondary story at best
Hospitals overrun with patients in the south. not news worthy.
US former president leading an insurrection cue to destroy democracy and election integrity. whatever, it is time to moved on.
Massive heat wave, drought, and wild fires across the country. This story not interesting enough.
Mass shooting. A thing of the past.
Newly passed infrastructure bill that will effect almost US citizens. yawn

A 20+ year war were most Americans are not really interested in (being honest) or know why we were there in the first place. This must dominants all other news stories for weeks.

My prediction.

Note, I'm not saying this story is not news worthy, but there are so many stories that need to be covered in the US. In world news, of course, this should be covered. However, US national news, mainly coverage US stories and most don't even know why American are even fighting that war anymore.

Democrats must spike the football!

https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/10/opinions/stimulus-vote-covid-filipovic/index.html

The House passed the $1.9 trillion bill, overwhelmingly thanks to Democrats. Not a single Senate or House Republican voted for the bill, and one Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden of Maine, voted against it.
The relief package is groundbreaking: It sends $1,400 stimulus checks to close to 90% of American households, directs billions to small businesses and schools, pours necessary resources into vaccine distribution, extends unemployment benefits and offers parents an unprecedented child allowance -- a cash benefit for families with children. No, it's not everything progressives wanted. But it's the most ambitious cash assistance plan I've seen in my lifetime.
It didn't come sooner, though, because Republicans were in charge until seven weeks ago. And Democrats should remind voters of exactly that. Trump and the GOP passed tax cuts in 2017 that disproportionately helped the wealthiest, but when the pandemic hit in 2020, they were out to lunch. Public health messaging was garbled and inconsistent. The President spread dangerous and deadly false information. When the Republican Party did put forward a stimulus bill that sent out cash payments and provided much-needed support for small businesses and communities, Democrats were on board: They supported the bill because it was the right thing to do for a country in crisis.
But now, a year into a deadly pandemic that has killed more than 520,000 Americans -- more than all the wars of the past 100 years combined -- and left hundreds of thousands of more without jobs, homes or basic stability, Republicans are refusing to come to the rescue.
Democrats have, which is why Americans have gotten the additional help we needed. That's the message Democrats need to hammer home as they take well-earned credit for what they've achieved here.

Taking credit isn't just so Democrats can pat themselves on the back; it's so the public understands how and why this happened. Many Americans do not pay close attention to politics, and don't necessarily tie the decisions made in Washington to the realities of their day-to-day lives. Democrats need to connect those dots for them, loudly and repeatedly, so that voters can understand what's at stake in elections and what both parties truly stand for.

In short, Democrats and the White House must do this. Americans people's memory is so short and some people need to made aware the Democratic party are the only ones looking out for their best interests. Also, a lot of people are turned off of all political news and no nothing about this bill that just pay. Some people are frankly unintelligent and thought Donald Trump personally gave them the stimulus check last time. Democrats should go on all network lambasting all Republicans for not helping anyone except corporations.

What is next big legislative bill on the list? Infrastructure, health care, minimum wage, or other

With the COVID bill almost complete, what is next big legislative bill that should be address? Infrastructure, health care, minimum wage, or other

Personally, I think minimum wage should be address first. This topic is a major button atm and will be a major thorn if nothing is done before 2022. It is pretty obvious that $15/hr will never pass the Senate. How about $11 - $12 /hr? I know this was not the amount promised, but it is a start and can hopefully be adjusted later if we gain more seats in the senate next election. Many states will never budge above $7.25/hr if not done thru the federal level. This measure will significantly help more people than any one time stimulus check. American poor need a concrete fix.

However, if you think other areas should first please share your thoughts? Fixing sky rocket health care prices should also be high on our agenda.

Should I get the COVID vaccine now even though I technical qualify for it?

Before we begin, I'm not saying afraid or the vaccine or anything like that, but I think the rollout phases are so broad in my state (PA). In addition to health care professionals and 65+ older, PA phase 1a include:

Persons ages 16-64 with high-risk conditions:
Cancer
Chronic kidney disease
COPD
Down Syndrome
Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system)
Obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30 kg/m2 or higher but < 40 kg/m2)
Severe Obesity (BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2)
Pregnancy
Sickle cell disease
Smoking
Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Mass vaccination sites started to open up in my area and open to all Phase 1a applicants. I do technically qualify for phase 1a according to the state's eligible checker. I am classified as obese even though most will not considered me fat. It's mostly due high muscle mass and also I'm short. 5'2" ~195 lbs. I hear stories of a lot of people in my area having a hard time finding a vaccine. I know since I've helped a number of friends/family signed up for a vaccine for the past few week but I've run out of people from "my pool." I am willing to assists others, but some are wary given out information to a total stranger and some people want to do it themselves. If slots are available should I sign up or wait and hope that someone more worthy gets it instead?

Another day of trying to schedule for an COVID vaccine appointment without any luck.

Note, I'm just venting, so let me rant.

I've been trying to schedule a vaccine for my parent's since they qualify for phase 1A status in the state of PA a month ago.
Both of my parents are over 75 with health issues (although i know most ppl above 60 are as well).

Each morning and throughout the day, I login to the state's covid website and sign up / call to every pharmacy/hospital that is marked to distribute the vaccine in my area. I usually don't get any response back besides an occasional email that we will contact you if available to schedule for an appointment. I was to find a vaccine scheduling available if I'm willing to drive to another state (approximately 4-5 hours away). My parents are not down with that since long road trip really takes a toll on them. So all I can do is try again and wait. Am I doing something wrong?

To add insult to injure, couple of my "friends" were able to secure vaccine by lying on their applications. They are healthy and in their 20s and work for a major health care provider. They do not work in a medical profession though. They are IT professionals and wfh too. They mark themselves as medical staff anyways and no one really checks on their employment status. Honestly, I could do that too, but I don't think it right for me to cheat the system. I will hate myself if I get the vaccine before my parents.

This is a frustrating process and my state needs to do a better job. Their website is not helpful at all. Honestly, fb signup are more reliable in finding one. However, PA residents shouldn't need to scour social media to find an appointment.

I am happy (albeit a bit jealous) for everyone who was able to get the vaccine, but not there are plenty of ppl like me who are struggling to find an appointment's available. It is even more frustrating to hear some ppl are able to get multiple vaccine for "just in case" purposes. All I'm saying if you do get the vaccine, please just don't brag about it.

rant off.

Fun fact: President can revoke pardons made by Trump only if the pardons are not delivered in time.

Until today, I didn't know in certain conditions that a pardon from a president could be or rescinded by another president.
If a pardon is not delivered in time of the next administration, the next president can actually revoke a pardon from the previous president. Since Trump is issuing all his pardons at the last moment, it is possible that Biden can revoke some of Trump's pardons.
