Obviously they don't want to remind anyone that there's a Shit Show going on elsewhere, so people stay on MSNBC. Though I'd guess that most of those watching MSNBC right now, are watching them for the reason of avoiding the Shit Show.

I imagine that they're going to cover it extensively, at 9 PM and/or 10 PM EST, once it concludes, but I for one am glad they haven't said Word 1 about it this hour.

I read a few threads here on DU about what's going on, but now I'm going to avoid them, and perhaps take a break from DU for at least a couple of hours. I really can't understand why anybody would want to give them the viewership they are obviously seeking. There is not 1 redeeming reason I could see to subject yourself to the LIES, SPIN and general OBNOXIOUSNESS of that POS.

Former Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius has applied for parole and is expected to attend a hearing on Friday that will decide if he can be released from prison 10 years after killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp by shooting her multiple times through a toilet door in his home.

Pistorius, who was convicted of murder in Steenkamp’s Valentine’s Day 2013 killing, could leave the Atteridgeville Correctional Centre in Pretoria on Friday if his parole is granted, although the Department of Corrections said the process may take days to finalize if his application is successful.

Barry and June Steenkamp, the parents of Reeva, have said they oppose Pistorius’ release and are allowed to address the parole board at his hearing. A submission by a victim’s relatives is one of numerous factors taken into account.

“He is a murderer. He should remain in jail,” Barry Steenkamp said in an interview with Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper published last month on the 10th anniversary of his daughter’s killing.

Ex-NBA star Shawn Kemp fired a gun during a parking lot altercation prior to his felony arrest on Wednesday ... footage obtained by TMZ Sports shows.

53-year-old Kemp -- wearing a red vest -- approached a vehicle and pointed his firearm ... appearing to yell something before pulling the trigger at least once outside a Tacoma, Washington shopping mall around 2:00 PM.

As we previously reported ... Kemp was booked for felony drive-by shooting at 5:58 PM at the Pierce County Jail.

Sources tell Fox 13 Kemp was attempting to retrieve items he claimed were stolen on Tuesday ... and once he tracked down the property Wednesday afternoon, someone opened fire on him first. Kemp claims he was purely acting out of self-defense.

Got into a pointless discussion with a brain dead gunner on a Facebook post about today's shootings in Orlando. His opening line was to blame the "Democrat" party who have leadership positions in that county.

I've finally decided that I'm just going to block any POS repub I come across. I'm sure they're like cockroaches though, and it will be tough to rid myself of seeing all of their comments, but gotta start somewhere I guess.

Then we hear the back stories of the victims. How wonderful they were, how much potential they had. How many people loved them.

That's all fine and well, but what about the carnage inflicted on these people?

So don't show the mutilated bodies, because people might get upset? Well, WE'RE FUCKING UPSET ALREADY!

Out of sight, out of mind. Let's not offend the delicate nature of people who want to keep their "precious," by showing exactly the bloody wreckage left by one of these instruments of death.
