Distinguished Speaker Series Presents: Malcolm Nance

presented USC Price Safe Communities Institute

starting at 1:18:25

We may be 90 days from the end of democracy. If this election goes, and there is no Blue Wave - of an alliance of Republicans, Democrats, and people who just love the Constitution, you will get your autocracy. I say that without flinching, I say that using every tool of intelligence analysis that I know. Again, if this were Burundi, or if this were the Hutus and Tutsis of Rwanda I would say the exact same thing! This is just pure raw intelligence.

You all see it. It's happening before your very eyes. Because they don't care. They believe with 30% of the American public, or 25% of the electorate - 50% of whom did not even bother to vote in 2016 - they will rule for that 25%. And, you know, the beautiful part of their plan is they're going to use elections to dismantle democracy. And those of you who don't vote, those of you who know people who don't vote, you will have voted for the end of the American Experiment. You.

And those of us who stand to to this, which is what you're seeing me do on television - I'm just a pissed off old Navy chief, that's what you're seeing. But people say "Oh, you speak so eloquently and speak so passionately". NO! My job as chief was to recalibrate screw-ups up the chain of command, and down the chain of command. And when I see something wrong, I open my mouth and I say it. And that's all I'm doing on television these days.

And I am here to give you one last warning: I grew up in Philadelphia. I lived, and I walked, and I saw the streets where this nation's morals and values were created. I take it very seriously. I take it as a personal insult that I could literally be watching Americans vote away our own form of government. Now, I don't say that tomorrow "Oh! It's an autocracy!". This is the beautiful part about dictators: you whittle it away. You keep the Constitution, and you pay lip-service to the Constitution. And then what you do, is just take away rights. One at a time.

You know, this whole debate about Judge Kavanaugh, people talking about how he'll be a Trump appointee, and how he will go with Trump and not the law. And I have other people say "no when he's on the Supreme Court, he'll rule by the Constitution". I'm giving you a homework assignment, for those of you kids who have never seen it or any of you, I want you to watch the movie "Judgment At Nuremberg". First off, I love Spencer Tracey. He kicks ass as a judge who is sent to Germany to try the Supreme Court Justices of Germany who ruled that Jews weren't people. That Jews should be sent off. That property should be stolen. That people should be sterilized. That almost a million German mentally retarded people would be put to death quietly through euthanasia. And all of it was legal. All of it had legal precedents in Nazi Germany.

I've been to three concentration camps, a Cambodian extermination camp, and Auschwitz. I am starting to feel that those things that we have, sort of, lost our bearings, and our moral compass, in that white supremisists, American Nazism, the belief that there is one tribe in this country, and that it is white, and male-dominated. In that "The Handmaid's Tale" is a documentary. I'm really starting to believe there are people in this country that believe this.

And I spent my whole life, my five brothers spent their lives, my father spent his life, his father spent his life, his father spent his life, his father spent his life - all of us Nances: 1864 to my niece who saw combat off of Yemen, served in the armed forces. From the Civil War till today - Don't Clap. We are not your last line of defense. YOU ARE OUR LAST LINE OF DEFENSE! We are so screwed if in the next 90 days we fail this test!

Carl Paladino Announces His Bid For Congress

Carl Paladino, a Buffalo real estate developer and big Donald Trump supporter, announced Saturday that he intends to run for Congress in New York’s 27th district. The seat is being vacated by Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), who was arrested on charges of insider trading last week.

Paladino is basically Buffalo’s version of Trump ― loud, into real estate, conservative and known for offending people.

Paladino was co-chair of Trump’s presidential campaign in New York. He most recently served on the Buffalo school board until the state education commissioner kicked him off in August 2017 for revealing confidential information about negotiations with the city’s teachers union.

But members of the school board had previously voted for him to leave after he made racist comments in response to a local newspaper’s questionnaire about what he would like to see happen in 2017. Paladino said he’d like President Barack Obama to die from mad cow disease and called first lady Michelle Obama a man who should go live with gorillas.

The MAGAheads love this guy. Not sure how he gets around the residency requirements, though. Buffalo isn't in NY-27
