Apple iPhone latest updates set a feature called "NameDrop" to default "On". Basically it allows any iPhone near you to get your contact info just by being nearby.
Police Departments are warning parents about it. Imagine some weirdo hanging out by a bus stop just harvesting kids info as they walk by.
Some publications are claiming it isn't a big deal (like Wired). To me though it seems like an invitation to identity theft or worse.
Who the hell thought this was a good idea?

Santos "Badge of Honor"
Santos is claiming his expulsion would be a "Badge if Honor" I guess I wonder WTF. I mean, how did breaking the law become a badge of honor?
Then again Trump made being a racist greedy bastard acceptable.
It just reaffirms to me that Trump is a much greater danger to America than Russia, China, or anyone / anything else was.

Apparently the defendant has not only posted on "X", but also appeared on a podcast.

House Passes Funding Bill 336-95
The House passed the laddered approach CR to continue funding the government. There was major Democratic support.

The measure, the first major test for new House Speaker Mike Johnson, was approved by 336 votes to 95.
Apparently 93 Republicans voted AGAINST the measure but Democrats "saved the day" according to an MSNBC opinion piece.

Santos Fundraiser Pleads Guilty
A fundraiser for serial lying George Santos has plead guilty to wire fraud charges. Apparently he impersonated a top aide to former SOTH Kevin McCarthy in soliciting cash from gullible Santos supporting RepubQcans.

He's the second Santos minion to plead guilty. Kind of like Trump. Hitch yourself to the scum of the RepubQcan parties most compulsive liars, and you'll pay the price.

POLL - Johnson Plan - What Should Dems Do?
Reading a lot of news articles online about the looming shutdown. Apparently SOTH Johnson has said he plans to rely on Democrat votes to help overcome the far right MAGA Caucus that objects.
The plan would fund Agriculture, Energy and Water, Military Construction-VA and Transportation-HUD until Jan. 19. The rest of the government, notably the Defense Department, would be funded until two weeks later Feb. 2. It also extends the farm bill, including food stamps until next September. It doesn't include the draconian cuts and border security demands of the MAGAts.

What should Democrats do. Granted it's not a great plan, but it avoids cuts Ds won't vote for AND slams the door on the MAGAt Caucus at the same time.
