'Black Voters Matter' Writes Open Letter:

LaTosha Brown and Cliff Albright, co-founders of Black Voters Matter (BVM), along with April England-Albright, the national legal director of BVM, have denounced calls for President Joe Biden to step down.

In a statement released on Friday, the trio urged Democrats to refrain from urging the 81-year-old president to withdraw from his reelection campaign. They emphasized the historic progress made by Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for Black voters during their administration, such as promoting entrepreneurship, increasing access to homeownership and expanding access to quality affordable healthcare.

“To the majority of Black Voters, the Biden-Harris ticket has delivered on enough of those promises to stand with this ticket today. In spite of this, the recent nervous cry for Biden to step aside—led largely by white congresspeople, pundits, and donors—threatens to mute and overlook the voices of Black Voters” the trio penned.

“Such a step by the Democratic Party would not only impact the enthusiasm of Black Voters in this year’s general election, but it would impact Black turnout for decades to come while deepening the widespread belief that the Democratic Party takes our voters for granted.”

Djt's speech boomed, drifted, then sank

'Trump's RNC speech went about 40 minutes longer than planned because he knew he was bombing. Trump was like a comedian bombing who was trying to at least end with a big laugh. But that moment never came. Trump just opened the door for us to win--and we will!'

Biden campaign manager tells 'Morning Joe' Biden is staying in race

“We are built for the close election that we're in, and we see the path forward. The President is the leader of our campaign and of the country” and the “best person to take on Trump.”

“I'm not here to say that this hasn't been a tough several weeks for the campaign. There's no doubt that it has been, and we've definitely seen some slippage in support, but it has been a small movement.”

“We know that people are not moving from Joe Biden to Donald Trump,” O'Malley Dillon says. “What they're doing is they're saying to us, 'Can he do it?' And the President saying, ‘Yes, I can.’”

She claims: “We have multiple pathways to victory.”

Biden:"I'm sick...."

'Shortly after news of Joe Biden’s Covid bout broke, the president’s personal X account posted a tongue-in-cheek fundraising appeal.

In a two-part post, the president wrote: “I’m sick,” before adding: “of Elon Musk and his rich buddies trying to buy this election. And if you agree, pitch in here.”

Democrats to push ahead with Biden nomination before convention

The Democratic National Committee is quietly moving ahead with plans to formally nominate Joe Biden as the party’s presidential candidate weeks before the Democratic national convention next month, according to a report.

Democratic bosses are moving to kill off efforts to force Biden from the party’s presidential ticket by rushing ahead with plans for convention delegates to vote electronically in a week-long roll call starting in late July, Axios reported.
If a majority of the 4,000 delegates back Biden, it will make his candidacy technically unchallengeable when the convention starts on 19 August.

The move comes while the rebellion triggered by last month’s debate fiasco – which prompted multiple calls from within the party for Biden to be replaced as the candidate – has stalled following Saturday’s failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Under the plan, the electronic vote would probably start on 29 July and end on 5 August, meaning Biden will in effect secure his candidacy if he can survive the mutiny for another two weeks.
