NATO summit: Trump accuses Germany of being a 'captive of Russia'

Oh the irony.

Trump: Supreme Court pick will be a 'home run' - Add your translation.

Trump is boasting the supreme court pick will be a "Home Run":

Anyone care you translate this for me?!?

Just a reminder that Al Franken was railroaded!

I for one would like to have his voice in America about now. His words were always reassuring and encouraging at the same time. He is missed.

MITCH SAVORS HIS SPOILS

It all makes sense (Jill Stein)

In the aftermath of the election Jill Stein started a fund raising campaign for recounts in 3 states. There was a big push right here on DU to donate. Question: do you think this could have been Russians infiltrating DU?

Trump isn't getting more popular, but his policies are

Of the surveyed, 48 percent give tRump credit for the economy while only 41 give Obama credit. This is somewhat surprising to me. What has tRump done to improve the economy. He is merely riding the Obama's coattail and soaking up the credit. We probably need to improve our messaging to make sure Obama gets more of the credit.

So the state of the union speech is coming...

I don't know if I'm going to be able to watch it. It is going to be painful if I do. What do you expect from tRump in the speech and will you watch it or not?

Who "lost" family over Politics this year?

At thanksgiving our family had terrible shouting matches over politics. I just left the room and decided to go for a walk. It was bad - I think everyone made good, but there was a dark cloud over that family get together and it may never be the same again.

Do you have any stories?

Barack Obama says he felt a sense of 'serenity' after Donald Trump's inauguration

Speaking in an interview for the BBC Radio 4's Today Program, former Obama described to Prince Harry of the U.K. royal family the moment he left the presidency behind.

"I think it was a satisfying feeling. That was mixed with all the work that was still undone. Concerns about how the country moves forward but, you know, overall there was serenity there. More than I would have expected," Obama said.

I have to be honest I felt sheer horror. lol. Glad he is enjoying his post presidency time.

In the heart of Trump Country, his bases faith is unshaken

The regulars amble in before dawn and claim their usual table, the one next to an old box television playing the news on mute.

Steven Whitt fires up the coffee pot and flips on the fluorescent sign in the window of the Frosty Freeze, his diner that looks and sounds and smells about the same as it did when it opened a half-century ago. Coffee is 50 cents a cup, refills 25 cents. The pot sits on the counter, and payment is based on the honor system.

People like it that way, he thinks. It reminds them of a time before the world seemed to stray away from them, when coal was king and the values of the nation seemed the same as the values here, in Godís Country, in this small county isolated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

Everyone in town comes to his diner for nostalgia and homestyle cooking. And, recently, news reporters come from all over the world to puzzle over politics ó because Elliott County, a blue-collar union stronghold, voted for the Democrat in each and every presidential election for its 147-year existence.

Until Donald Trump came along and promised to wind back the clock.

Can someone explain this? I just don't get it.
