Repugs have figured out something very disturbing....there are no consequences for "bad actors".

Definition of Bad Actor: "A bad actor is a person or entity that acts in a dishonest, harmful, or illegal way. Bad actors may act unethically, break rules, or cause trouble. They often exploit vulnerabilities, deceive others, or disregard regulations."

They have learned that they can break the law, ignore the constitution and make up rules as they go along that fit whatever outcome they wish to achieve.

Democrats in power need to understand this and work towards a means to thwart it. Unfortunately, the system of "justice" in the current state of America does not lend itself to fixing this problem.

We are now living in a scary new world. One where laws and jurisdiction ONLY apply to Democrats. Honestly, I don't know how it can be changed.

As a real estate photog, I go into a LOT of homes. A lot of those homes have teen aged boys.
When "I" was a teen aged boy, every other boy I knew either had a FF or Cheryl poster on their bedroom walls. OR a Metallica or Kiss poster.
Nowadays, I go into many homes and see TRUMP posters in those same bedrooms. I ask myself, with disgust, WHAT THE FUCK DO THEY SEE IN THIS OLD, FAT, BALDING, RAPIST, FELON AND CON ARTIST?? What is the appeal to a teen aged boy? I just don't fucking get it.

Even if the asshole were to die tonight, it would not be a good New Year...we have 4 long years of hell awaiting us.

While I do wish to wake to his demise, the die has been cast. We are in for a rough ride.

I am a junkie.

There, I have admitted it. I am a political junkie. It was a humble beginning in 2000 with the debacle of the SC giving the election to Bush Jr. My addiction grew with the discovery of Countdown with Keith Olberman. Every evening, it was thrilling to wait with bated breath for the Worst Person in the World. Spoiler, more times than not, it was Bill O'reilly.
In 2004, I was certain that the American people would have seen through the thin veneer that was Bush and Cheney, but again, I was disappointed.
Then came the happy years. Barack Obama made is debut and surprising launch into our consciousness. 2008 and 2012 were great years to be a Democrat. In hindsight, it could have been better, but compared to the prior 8 years, it was nirvana.
We ALL knew that it would continue, as we had an extremely competent candidate in Hillary Clinton. And on top of that, she was running against a buffoon named Donald Trump. We were convinced, without a shadow of a doubt, that she could NOT lose against a reality show host with zero political experience, but alas, we underestimated the willful ignorance and stupidity of a majority of the America public.
Somehow, we made it though the next four years...other than the million that died because of D. Trumps incompetence, but Democracy survived. In 2020, America was ready for the steady hand of a life timer, Joe Biden. President Biden took the crapshow that was handed to him, and turned it into one of the greatest comebacks in the world's history. We had the greatest economy of all the 1st world countries and were praised by economists and historians alike.
As a junkie, when Joe decided not to run again, I was kinda shocked, but ready to get behind his hand picked successor, Kamala Harris. Little did I know just how ready she was to run for, and be the next POTUS. I was filled with HOPIUM and put more effort and money into her election than I had for any previous candidate. It was imperative that a convicted felon, insurectionist an rapist ever set foot in the White House again.
She ran an excellent campaign. Period.
On Tuesday, November 5th I was anxious but was convinced that the American people would make the right choice. I was wrong.

My hope for America has died. Every morning, when I wake, there is a dark cloud above me, surrounding me. When I go to bed at night, the dark cloud settles in and wraps me in it's stifling embrace. Every day is the same.
I have said all this to express this final thought. As any junkie, I must remove that which feeds my addiction. For that to happen, I am forced to go cold turkey. I, reluctantly, have decided to stop all interaction with news and conversation concerning the next 4 years.
I am not sure I can, but I have to try. I have too many ties to DU to cut it completely from my life, but it has to be trimmed to the Lounge and support forums. No Ytube videos, no X, no news streams. I just don't think I can handle the constant stream of horrible news that will beset us over the next 4 years.
I will of course support our Democratic nominees in 2 years, and our Presidental candidate in 4, if we are allowed to vote in 2028. I will still be here to interact with my friends, but not politically. IF I CAN BREAK MY ADDICTION.

Asswipe will be riding on the coattails of a very good economy when he is inaugurated. I fully expect that to fade within a year.
What is the advice coming from knowledgeable financial people?
If the dollar is going to be destroyed by this administration, what should normal American's do to somewhat protect themselves financially.
