It's less, I believe, about digging anything real up, then it is about stripping him of his dignity. They want to open his mouth to check his teeth, bend over and have him spread his cheeks- and what does that remind us of?

They're trying to diminish him, humiliate him, make further hay of his "differentness". And it's not just rank and file teabaggers; it's also prominent republicans and parts of the MSM.

It's just so appalling. It's a damn good thing that President Obama, whatever his faults, has a shitload of dignity.

4. Reminds me of those desperate attempts to scrutinize the "Clenis"
I swear those fools were just DYING to get Clinton in a locked room to make him drop his pants.

10. Me too, and it also makes me wonder why
everything negative that happens to a black or brown person has to be turned into racism.

Granted, there are some people involved in this birther thing who are probably racists.

But there seems to be a rather broad brush attempt by some to paint ALL of them with the stain of racism.

Bill Clinton was subjected to a lot of idiotic and humiliating accusations during his two terms. He's white. He was white then. I'm sure that probably pisses off a lot of people who would just LOVE to hurl the word "racists!!!" around at the people who went after him. Alas...they can't.

I doubt very much to see a repeat with Obama, but if by some strange chance it did, the very first thing some would screech about would be racism.

If it happens to a white guy, it's for one reason. If the exact same thing happens to a black or brown guy, it's racism.

Of course it would NEVER be that he's a Democrat, and hated just for that....no...it would be his race.

Yech.

I dunno. Maybe it's me. I don't see Obama as being black. I see him as being a man who's a Democrat. Reason enough for the Repubs/Baggers to hate him.

14. From over here the real issue has always seemed racist.

My partner put it to me a year ago that the Birthers would like to say, "There's a N@@@@@@ in the White House - and he ain't serving the coffee!!!"

This has always been racist and it becomes even more obvious now they are putting the "college transcripts" thing to the fore. With this manufactured controversy they are trying to remove any the legitimacy from his achievements at Harvard because they are the result of "affirmative action".

/edit for spelling

7. Yup, Andrea Mitchell's "innocent" look today and refusal to "get it" infuriated me. Can't stand her
and can't stand her hubby Greenspan either.

9. You've got it. Things aren't bad enough yet.
Of course, when the economy and the country collapse, they're going to scream that President Obama wasn't paying attention, the rat fuckers.

11. yes, they did the same thing to Clinton. PuKKKes one consistent tactic is to demean their opponent
becasue they can't win on positive issues--they have none.

13. Yup. Using the tools of the psychopath the GOP attacks obama, teaches their followers to attack
Edited on Wed Apr-27-11 10:52 PM by applegrove
Obama so they could never see eye to eye with the president. They attack him in any way he is different than GOP supporters. Why he did well in university, going all the way to Harvard ATTACK THAT! Why he had a Kenyan father ATTACK THAT. Big or little differences must be exploited and grown. All so that the little people the gop exploits can vote against their own best interest by voting GOP.
