Was Maher Censored on Letterman Last Night
For saying Tea Baggers? It seemed like he said Tea XXXXXXXX, and they censored out the "baggers." I don't know, he may have said something worse, but if it was just "baggers," I just have to say---"Really?" "Come on, no, really?"

1. Yes, and that confused me, too.

2. I guess their logic is that "teabagging" is a sexual act.
And therefore needs to be censored. Ahh, puritanism.

3. Jeez
If you censured every word involved in a playful description of some sort of a sexual act, that'd be a lot of words. That is pretty stupid.

4. I found it confusing, since he's said the same thing numerous times on his show.
But I guess he can get away with a lot more there, since that's HBO.

5. Bingo! HBO is mostly censor-free.
I miss HBO .. subscribed on a 1-year super low rate "special" that ran out :(

and I can't afford the "real" rate so had to cancel.

I guess the upside is I do more walks, workouts, etc. so it's all good really.

6. My housemate subscribes to HBO.
I couldn't afford it, either, and it really wouldn't be worth it to me, since Bill Maher is pretty much the only thing I watch...

7. Treme on HBO is now the only reason
True Blood will start again...

They sort of manipulate it, don't they? Most of the time lately they show surprisingly OOOOLLLDDD DULL movies. :(

8. My previous job was working with TV listings
And I had to edit the HBO schedules for the satellite guides. I decided back then that HBO really wasn't worth it. I remember that they showed things like old Bob Hope movies that you'd expect to see on AMC...

9. Think how cheap they bought those for!
But for Treme and True Blood I'd quit it. :(

13. My housemate loves True Blood.
It's a bit bloody for me. Bill Maher is almost worth it for me, but it's only one show and he takes way too many hiatuses. :(

16. Game of Thrones has really started out with a bang, too.
I hope those characters on Treme get
some GOOD news soon.

Wow. Opener was SAD.

11. Most of the numerous HBOs show the same thing.
One time I was looking for something to watch and finally settled on a movie about aliens that I ran across on one of them. I thought I'd gone back to it and didn't think much of it when one of the characters was speaking in Spanish. I figured that aliens would certainly be multi-lingual. But when it went on, I finally realized that I had tuned into the same movie on the Spanish language HBO.

14. Suffering Showtime Withdrawal Myself
Weeds, Nurse Jackie, Dexter, Diary of a Call Girl, and a few others I can't remember, Oh yea, didn't get the last few episodes of Shameless.

But I got Netflix, which by the way has sucky resolution, but is about the price of two movies on VUDU, a trade-off I have to make.

I hear you on HBO though, if I had it, that'd be probably what I would mostly watch, Maher. They've gotten really picky about letting their clips out. Used to be able to get on DU Saturday morning and watch the whole show. Now, not even worth posting, as they'll snatch it right off.

15. CBS I'm Sure
The more I think about it, I don't really think it was an obscenity censure. I think it had to do with them being a corporations, the Tea Party being corporate, and them not wanting to allow Bill to degrade them using their originally used name of their own group. So it was a political censure, which makes it even worse in my book.

17. You people do know teabagging is a sexual term, right?
I mean it is a lot of fun to call them that but it is a sexual reference.

I imagine if Mr. Maher had mentioned "people who like to place their testicles on their partner's eyelids" that too would have been censored.
