2. Your tint went haywire. Turn it off and restart. If that doesn't work, play around
with the tint setting.

4. Just push your hair out of your face. Maybe put it in a ponytail or something.
Sorry, I just had to make a blonde joke based on your screen name.

8. there's a good chance the connection is loose
Check the video cable between the monitor and your PC. Unscrew and unseat each end (sometimes not possible on the monitor end of the cable). Check to see if any of the pins are bent or smashed. If not, it may be that the cable was put in a little cocked, or got stretched over time so that one side is pulling out more than the other. If reseating doesn't help, and if it's not the tint problem mentioned above, your monitor could be going bad.

9. That happened to mine once (well, recurringly).
It kept going in and out like that but the color was purplish. I asked my computer guy at work and he fixed it. He said it was a capacitor that had gone bad.

11. If it's a CRT (like an old tv),

then one (or more) of the electron guns might have failed.

Or there might be a problem with the video card (function, if built into the motherboard).

Or it might be a transient problem: turn off your computer and monitor; let them cool down; and try again.

(Some(!) good advice upstream too.)
