"O’Donnell, in fact, is no Palin"
...

But O’Donnell, in fact, is no Palin. The former Alaska governor had held other political posts in the state before winning its highest executive office. O’Donnell has run for office three times – each time for the US Senate – and never won. Her victory against Congressman Castle was indeed a stunning upset, but it took place in a low-turnout primary with a right-place, right-time anti-establishment wind at her back.

The unmarried O’Donnell also doesn’t have the life experience of Palin, who is married and has five children, including one with special needs. O’Donnell’s sketchy employment, educational, and financial histories may make her “relatable” to some voters, especially in tough economic times, but at a certain point, she’s just plain hard to pin down. That’s why the reported campaign finance probe may really hurt her political future – and perhaps why she’s fighting back so hard.

In discussions of the potential 2012 GOP presidential field, Palin’s name is always in the mix. Even if Republican voters are telling pollsters they’d prefer someone else as their nominee, the possibility of a Palin candidacy is taken seriously.

O’Donnell isn’t in the same league. Maybe her best bet is to follow in the footsteps of another failed 2010 Senate candidate, Alvin Greene of South Carolina, the unemployed Army veteran who inexplicably won the Democratic primary. Mr. Greene is now running for the state legislature.

4. LOL....Exactly.
When you can't measure up to the Wasilla Wolf Killa's "accomplishments", you're a real political loser.

6. I don't know that I'd go that far
But yeah, by comparison to O'Donnell, Palin looks almost marginally competent.

7. OK, I'll ask...
WHICH party's nomination for the state legislature is Greene seeking? It looks like his whole "campaign" last fall could have been a set-up for a "I'm running as a Republican now because the Democrats in this state wouldn't back a black man for the Senate" thing.

And, from what I've seen, the GOP seems to a better home for sex offenders than we are.

18. I'm on the right thread, and I'm writing in response to the last line in the OP
(btw, I wasn't saying I'd AGREE with Greene doing that, or ever be insane enough to support the guy in that...I was saying this whole thing looks like a GOP set-up to create such a thing, which would mainly be about using this guy to embarass the SC Dems and to try to delude some black voters in SC into switching parties.

I do know this is mainly a "Sereta the Enchantress" thread, but that line about Greene was in there. OK?)

9. To say that O'Donnell isn't "in the same league" as Palin
assumes that Palin is in any league in the first place. This writer seems to think Palin is a viable candidate, while the truth is that both of them, not just O'Donnell, are hopeless nitwits.

11. She's not. She's cuter but still crazy and I'm pretty sure she steals. Palin
makes her money the old fashoned way-cashing in on celebrity. O'Donnell took money directly from her campaign.

16. I think they're both morons, but
The unmarried O’Donnell also doesn’t have the life experience of Palin, who is married and has five children, including one with special needs.

I cannot stand this "you're not REALLY mature and experienced until you get married and have kids" attitude. There have been many, many single childless people who achieved greatness and contributed much to their community. OTOH plenty of married parents are selfish idiots. Sarah Palin, Exhibit A.
