22. Return it to Wal Mart - no receipt required
They will give you a cash refund no questions asked

Of course, if you can afford it then giving the soup away is a nice option

30. I'd feel better just giving it away
I bought two large packages from Sam's Club at a discount.

They have been sitting in my garage.

My doctor always yells at me about my blood pressure, and he also warned me about the high sodium content in canned soup.

but I just had no idea it was this bad!!!

16. NONE of the labels reflect the truth about what is inside anymore.
All the companies are doing this shit, and almost all, if not all, have crap in them made in China that is poisoning everyone. Just because you quit hearing about all the crap in food and drugs, do you really think it has stopped? No. China made it clear to the rulers of the USA that we were not to complain about their poison finding its way into our food. The labels? Do you really think they're telling you the truth about calories and fat? Not a friggin chance. If they get sued, it's part of their business plan. Campbells won't miss one night's sleep over this.

15. Campbells easily beats out Noxzema.
And has more nutrition. If you want less sosium, eat Noxzema. Your face will love you.

17. This really pisses me off. I haven't had canned soup since
I started a low sodium diet, but I could see eventually adding it back to my diet once I have my blood pressure back under control. It is HARD to control sodium in your diet. You basically have to do everything from scratch. Even basic things like bread, tortillas, cheese, etc all have varying amounts of salt. It is hard work to keep track of this, and Campbell's should be ashamed for this fraud.

20. I know what you mean! I have to watch my sodium intake too. At first
I couldn't find any soup to eat, but I have now found a few brands that are millions of times better tasting than Campbells and with very low sodium. The company, Imagine, has some very good lower sodium soups, but my all-time favorite is from a company called Fig Foods. They make the best soup on the planet, IMO, but you can only buy it at a Whole Foods as far as I know. Here's their site:

http://www.figfood.com/

Even if I didn't have to watch sodium intake, I would NEVER go back to Campbells soup after finding alternatives that are so delicious and not full of trash like Campbells. They really should be ashamed.

19. "than regular condensed soup."
Learn to read labels and research what you use to fuel your body. Dishonest? No. Misleading? Probably to some. Worthy of lawsuit? Only if you just don't know better, which probably isn't Campbell's fault. Sorry. Honestly, if you feed yourself based on the front of a package, you need to question how much you know about nutrition.

26. well, I agree with you about the importance of learning to read labels, but
I disagree with you about whether it's worthy of a lawsuit, just because I think being more stringent about what kinds of misdirection is allowed in product labeling is a good thing. :) It seems pretty clear that the ambiguity of "regular condensed soup" (even reading that, one doesn't know what specifically that category of product contains) is designed precisely to create this kind of confusion. (Why not put that label on all the cans of their tomato soup, instead of putting it on some that and then raising the price for those?)

Anyway, I agree with your bottom line about learning to read labels and research, though--a habit that everyone should get into ...

25. that is so odd -- the "low-sodium" variety contains 30% less potassium --
so it would actually be better to eat the "high-salt" variety because of the better potassium-sodium ratio.

wtf is the point of this "less sodium" scam?

27. Had a tuna sandwich with a bowl of Campbell's tomato soup and the soup sure was n.a.s.t.y.
Blech. I remember when their tomato soup tasted Mmm...mmm good.

Probably dating myself here but gosh of things changed.

Hopefully this year I'll get to make my own t soup from the fruits I grow in the backyard.

28. Since the Consumer pretection agency was...
decimated, maybe a few lawsuits about the lying on labels will make these corporations start telling the truth again. Or at least stop lying quite so much.

29. They'll win because the "nutrition information" isn't false.
It's not their fault that people can't grasp what the underhanded insinuation advertizing is telling them.

32. They'll just say it was a printing mistake and be off the hook.
I had some progresso soup a few years ago that was exactly the same can, except the "serving size" on the back of one of the cans said "1/2 cup - servings in can 2" and the other one said "1/2 cup - servings in can 3" - it was the exact same can!!

So I'm sure it was just a printing mistake.

I hope Campbell's gets nailed good and hard for this.
