Kapanke recall committee rebut challenge:
http://lacrossetribune.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_ce4a1db8-6ad8-11e0-b132-001cc4c03286.html

Attorneys for the committee seeking a recall election for Sen. Dan Kapanke say there is no legal basis for a challenge the Republican senator filed last week in an effort to dismiss their petition.

Kapanke's attorneys on Friday challenged the petition on the grounds that recall organizer Pat Scheller had not filed campaign finance forms.

A rebuttal filed Tuesday with state election officials claims that argument is based on an artificial distinction between the recall committee, which was registered, and an individual agent acting on its behalf.

The argument is devoid of substance and defies common sense as well as established practice, the rebuttal states. "If there were a glimmer of substance to the argument, it might charitably be deemed to be at the furthest flung edges of hypertechnical, insubstantial potshots."

Now that is funny.

Ive come to see in the last few months all this reality-challenged behavior is for the benefit of that same 20-30% who think that Bush, Palin, Walker et all are actually presidential material.

Ex: the DOAs 7.5 million "estimate" to clean up the capitol. Doesnt matter what we think, or how ridiculous it sounds to most people, or even if the story is later retracted or corrected in the media. Once its out there in print, there's no taking it back , or convincing that 20-30% it just might be incorrect information.

If this case is thrown out of court just wait - they'll say it was because of a "liberal" judge. If it's liberal it's bad, and the corollary to that is: if it's bad it's.... liberal.
