"The story of 2011 is the Democratic base"
Rachel Maddow exposes the Tea Party as a sham, calls protesters the real story. As usual, she's terrific.

2. What really struck me about this piece was not just that the media continues to hype
the tea party and everything they do...even when it's only 12 tea partiers standing on a streetcorner...and how they ignore or downplay rallies and events by Democrats even when it involves tens of thousands...but it was Rachel's calling out of the Democratic leadership for giving up their advantage as majority party in the Senate.

I want to know why the republican controlled House had ultra partisan Paul Ryan draft the extremely partisan budget proposal....but the Democratically controlled Senate decides to have a "gang of six" made of equally of R's and D's come up with the Senate version of the budget???!!!!

Why? Why are we giving the R's equal say and input into the Senate budget proposal when they are the MINORITY party in the Senate?

The R's in the House didn't put together a committee made up of R's and D's to draft the budget proposal? Why are we doing it? And...why aren't we holding them accountable for it?

3. Ah, but remember: the reason for the Democratic Party ...
...is so there is no alternative to the Republicans.

On the Federal level, I think the majority of Democrats have been corrupted.
