TSA gropes 8-year-old boy's groin, this time at PDX
Source: KGW

When the Sheahan family planned their trip to Disneyland they never could have imagined how it would begin.

... Everything was fine until it was Heather's son's turn to go through the security checkpoint at Portland International Airport.

... Just like that little 8-year-old Spencer found himself in the company of a TSA agent. Heather snapped photos to show Spencer going through a full pat-down.

"They went up his leg, into that area, down the next leg, up here (chest), felt all over," she explained.

10. I saw a frequent flier defending it yesterday.
What he neglected to mention is that as a frequent flier if you are in an upper tier at any airline, you skip most of the lines, you go to the "frequent traveller" line and slip through without any fuss. As long as you don't set off the metal detector or something shows up in the x-ray you will never get patted down.

Airline security is a joke. Kabuki theater. Everything we do for "security" is done after the fact. When it's too damn late. We got lucky with the shoe and underwear bombers, they were complete idiots. Had they been a bit smarter....

Plus they are still only scanning 20% of the baggage and they are still using passenger flights to ship cargo.

7. (4) (B) " when the touching is not through clothing," It was through his clothing.
not saying patting down kids is ok, but according to what you post " when the touching is not through clothing," makes this fail. If I am reading this right.

6. *yawn*
We can get rid of the screening, or portions of it, if enough of the public opposes the screening

But it would take lots and lots public opposition to end it. If any reduction in screening is followed by a serious security lapse, there will be a lot of shrieking to the effect that the reduction enabled the lapse, and there will be a big political backlash -- and everybody with a lick of political sense knows it

Most folk will react "Meh!" to videos like this, showing a cute kid getting a patdown: there's just not enough there to sustain much outrage

8. I'd bet on photographs and video at airport checkpoints becoming illegal soon.
Less public outrage when it's only hearsay without proof.

But Americans get punished?
:eyes:

Granny groping, pedophillic policy makers sic the TSA on our fellow Americans---brilliant.
If an American has screwed up, no matter how long ago now, he/she can't get a job or rent a place with a felony conviction--brilliant.

17. You can't really believe that the policy is "pedophilic",
I mean really, is this what you believe? They do this as an excuse for groping?

16. Come on; it isn't groping in any sense.
Do you imagine child molesters are queuing up for airport security jobs in order to pat down children?

This is such a preposterous non issue.
