Bill O'Reilly on Florida Pastor Terry Jones and his Koran burning: He has 'blood on his hands'
Bill O'Reilly ripped into the Koran-burning Florida pastor who sparked deadly riots in Afghanistan, calling him an "insane Christian" who has "blood on his hands."

The conservative Fox News host said Monday night that Terry Jones "had to know fanatical Muslims would go crazy" when he oversaw the burning of the Islamic holy book on March 20.

The act ignited violent protests in Afghanistan, where an angry mob overran a United Nations mission in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif on Friday. The death toll on Tuesday climbed to at least 24, including seven U.N. workers, with more than 80 wounded.

"Everyone involved in this story is disgusting," O'Reilly added, including the killers and Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who called for Jones arrest knowing it would whip up "dangerous feelings."

18. Exactly.... I wonder if his subconscious is speaking to him...
or he thinks we will forget, if he projects the same denunciation he aptly deserved on the equally abhorrent Florida hatemonger pastor.

7. Most are sick of publicity hounds and an irresponsible media
that oddly trails them around like hungry puppies. A question that the USA MSM needs to answer is - Is there a subtle agenda to keep all Muslims portrayed as wild eyed fanatics? Obviously publicizing these intentions and actions by the quack plays into that.

If a Koran was burned and no one knew, it wouldn't make any difference, but the media tends to focus and incite perhaps intentionally.

15. That analysis doesn't work in this case

Truth is, the American media has done its best to ignore Jones, and they even totally blacked out his Koran burning a few weeks ago.

In fact, since he backed away from his threat to burn the Koran last September, Jones barely received a line of coverage in the US MSM until last Friday, when the murderous mobs appeared in Afghanistan.

And the mobs didn't find out about the burning stunt from the US media, the word spread via statements made by Karzai, and by Imams in the Mosques.

This story appears to be mostly promoted by al Qaeda, jihadists and radical Islamists because it fits their agenda. In the US it is mostly featured in obscure RW blogs.

The MSM US media, for its part, is now just catching up on the story, but the media's self-censorship on Jones remains pretty much in place.

For example, he has recently made threats to do a burning in Detrit, but it is not receiving a lot of coverage.

21. Pastor Jones gets 2,400,000 hits on Google with many as MSM
I hope you are correct but I don't see it.

I admit I've become highly cynical of the MSM. The new role of the consolidated mass media is about playing society as a Stradivarius for profits and relationships and diversion. Once known as the fourth estate, and having a major role in exposing governmental corruption, the MSM is now about corporate and government partnerships, profits, agendas and mostly about creating public opinion - pro and con depending the views of their corporate heads.

22. Almost all coverage is from last September
Between last September and last Friday, a virtual news blackout on Jones occurred.

The US MSM media is NOT pushing this story. You need to look elsewhere for answers as to why it is happening.

10. Yes he did, but Jones didn't keep the car for himself...
he gave it away to a charity for abused women as soon as he received it.

13. Does knowing that people will respond violently make you to blame?
If you run a civil rights march through a Southern city during the 1950s you could be sure that there would be a response, possibly violent.

But I would hesitate to hold the marchers responsible for the violence, even knowing that it would happen.

And that at least was proximal to what they were doing, not half way around the world in a completely different country.

17. Violent people are to blame for their own violence
It's legal to burn religious objects in the US, so Jones was engaging in protected free speech.

I don't think free speech should be limited because a potentially offended party is a violent, lawless, crazy person.

It's a bad idea to let lawless crazy people define the limits of free speech.

26. Yep
Unfortunately that seems to be the minority opinion around here.

I think if an Imam did something crazy, but peaceful, in the middle east and Christians here used that as an excuse to start murdering Muslims peoples opinions around here would be significantly different.

27. Actually, mine isn't a minority opinion now

I've been following and participating in debates on this the last few days, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the view I expressed above was actually pretty mainstream here. That hasn't been the case in the past, but I sense that this time that mods are a bit less inclined to move in and delete, as allegedly being racist, posts that attribute blame to the mobs. I'm glad they have allowed the debate to take place more openly.

from the responses I've been reading it seems that most people feel Jones is to blame.

But I could be getting a skewed picture.
