HELP A DUER NOW: phrigndumass

Summary:

Recently on disability due to a debilitating illness, can no longer afford mortgage due to med bills, must sell house, upside-down on value vs mortgage, can't close without additional funds ... Please Help!"

But, yes, my OP was evidently confusing, and I apologize.

I focused on his fundraiser in the first part and included a link, and the bottom part of my OP was talking about a fundraiser for Wishadoo! itself. I can't edit it now.

I'm in touch with Sven and making sure anyone who gives to Wishadoo! but meant it for Sven knows that he will get those funds, not to worry.

I see I caused some confusion in my OP (this is OneGrassRoot). This page is for a general fundraiser for Wishadoo! itself. Sven has a separate fundraiser, linked to in the OP.

However, I evidently caused confusion but I want to assure you I will make sure he gets these funds and knows that you donated to help him!!!

The more open we are about how we are dealing with life on disability, the more it comes into the public eye. Feel free to tell your story in this thread.

My current home is not that big, only 1200 sq ft, but it's on one full acre with a huge detached garage and a garden shed. There's a creek called "White Deer Creek" that runs along the south of my property. It was named that since there was an albino deer that visited here often, always alone.

I have had many dreams for this home, combining rooms and opening up the space, extending the back of the house to enlarge the kitchen and add a laundry room, etc. But I bought it mostly for the nature. The creek runs along the back, there is a large grove of black walnut trees to look at everytime I look out my windows, and it is adjacent to a nature preserve. I see and hear the owls, blue heron, beavers, and countless squirrels every day. All the trees are old and taller than the nearest hillsides, and there is shade most of the day around the house. To me, this is paradise.

It's a paradise I am forced to give up to be able to afford to live. Disability income never seems to cover the bills, and going into debt when you're not sure how long your disability will last just doesn't make sense, especially since I've already maxed out my credit cards on medical bills and other medical necessities. I will be moving from the countryside into a 500 sq ft condo downtown, one with easy access and maintenance provided. A homecare specialist will be assigned to me to come once a week and clean and do laundry. This can be humiliating. But as far as condos go, it is very nice, but to me it's just not paradise.

I will manage, thanks to all the help you've given me! But I will need to create for myself a new, smaller paradise for which to cherish.
