WI St. Cap Damaged by Tape?? BS even after revision of estimate
Dept of Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch initially claimed that the cleanup of the Capitol would cost $7.5 million - mostly to repair damage caused by the painter's tape used to put up signs on the marble. The Dept has since backed off that estimate, but last I read, there is a "restoration expert" working his way through a three-week-long assessment of the damaged "caused by the protesters." Story here:
http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/mar/08/mike-huebsch/wisconsin-officials-claim-cleaning-state-capitol-w/

I have one question, Secretary Huebsch.
If the painter's tape caused so much damage to the stone, why does your Department continue to use it to post signs in the Capitol???

I took these photos yesterday (March 26,2011), as we were leaving the Capitol.

1. It's only the tape used by all them socialists that causes damage.
Good Republican tape doesn't cause any damage at all.

4. Remember the "trashing of the vice president's offices" when Bush was elected?
The poor, poor Bush43 administration was forced to repaint all the offices and replace most of the computers because of the damage caused by the exiting administration. This was the first of many, many Karl Rove press releases that combined fact with fiction:

Facts:
1. The VP staff offices were repainted and redecorated
2. The computers were replaced.

Fiction:
The exit of Gore's staff forced this issue. About a week prior to Rove's new release, NPR toured the VP's offices with a member of the incoming administration to talk about upcoming changes. One of the things the reporter noticed was the that offices had been stripped of all their furniture (including every computer) for "updating". So, even if some minor damage had been incurred (such as removing the W from some computer keyboards), it was meaningless because it was all going away anyway.

Same bullshit in Wisconsin. Welcome to Rovian politics.

8. Damage was done but not by tape or the people
It was done by the GOP and their corporate masters. The damage is not physical but in principle and ethics.

10. Your post caused a huge fight between my wife and me. I told
her the story, followed with my usual rant about $%t^$^#*(^(&)()_)!!! She responded that very loudly that she can't &%&$&$&!!! live with someone who is so !!!!&)*&)^%* angry all the time. I will send the alimony bills to you.

Actually I have been very angry almost all the time since Rick Scott took office here in Fla. Maybe quiting my job on Tuesday like I plan to do will calm me down some. He and Florida can take their piss tests and 3% pay cuts and shove them up their...see, I am calmer already. Oh, and by the way, what is holding up that plastic "Capitol Police" sign, magic?

16. gee, sorry about the %^7$^*&((*&^$&&^)
most people understand that if they're not so #*(%^&*(Q^@$*&(&*_(@%^ in their ^%#*&(#&% relationships, everything will be just %^&*(%R%@#^&*, for the most part. Well, except when you occasionally %Y#&*^&@*%$^$()_ up and #@^#$@^&$(*&*(()*&&%.

So I'd be delighted to take on the alimony bills, to the extent that they'll be covered by my #Y%*(#)^&%*^&$R@%&*() %$*^#(&%*(#)*& once he gets out of @^&*%(%^&**&^#^&#*(&^%*) (if he does). In the meantime, I guess you're just %#^*()&#*(^&$*)&# on your own! :D

And I don't blame you for being #^*()^*$()#&*() every time Rick Scott's name pops into your head. Are you seriously planning to quit on Tuesday? If it's just big talk, then #*%$^*#()&*_(*. If it's true, then that's above goofing off, and I'll wish you the very best in what must be a tough time.

Tell you wife $&*(&#*(_&$(#_* from me! :D :pals:

17. Your reply gave me a big grin, which I still have as I write this.
My resignation is all printed out, but this $&^%*^*(! printer refuses to print envelopes &Y^&**&&$##!!! So I will have to do those tomorrow.

Also, I spent some time on the phone this afternoon with a very high powered Plaintiff's law firm that seems quite interested in filing a class action suit against the state. That would be (*%$#+)(*&@!!! awesome. I'd love to give those )(%#%@%@%&!! some serious grief. They may be sorry they &)(&%#@%$@@@ with me.

Even better than telling my wife your message, I think I will just @%%#%@! her, actions, not words, is my motto.

%$*()&&$%^&*()*&^%$$%&*()(*&&(^%$##@@ again and again. And certainly, better you than me.

Seriously, please keep me posted on progress, or lack thereof. We had another interesting afternoon at the Capitol - though it never plays out quite the way we're anticipating.

Signs still blue-taped to the walls, by the way, stickers and all!

12. UPDATE:
Well, it seems that many of the Dept of Administration signs that are taped to the interior walls of the Capitol have a little addition to them. Hopefully the little sticker is readable in the photo. Bold stickers would have been noticed and removed immediately by DofA. I thought little, subtle stickers might provide a little food for thought for the few people who will take the time to read them.

:D Solidarity! :D
