I thought they tore it down, but it was saved.. It was a very cool old building (actually two buildings joined together)..one Roosevelt, the other Lincoln..
There is irony here too, because lots of the seniors now living there, probably attended that school as kids.. full circle:)

Tax Credit-funded Rehabilitation Converts Historic Schools to LEED Certified Senior Housing
A 1998, Salina, Kansas bond issue meant an unsure future for five neighborhood schools, proposed for closure. The vacated buildings were saved for reuse when the community marketed them for redevelopment. The Roosevelt-Lincoln School complex, which consisted of two historic school buildings connected with newer structures, was sold to Pioneer Group, Inc. developers in 2004. With help from the Treanor Historic Preservation Team, Pioneer Group developed a plan to convert the structures to accommodate sixty-one senior housing units.
The project included restoration of the original campus plan via the demolition of non-historic structures, which obscured the facades of these two historic school buildings. The work was funded through rehabilitation tax credits and senior housing tax credits.
Pioneer Presidents' Place was designed using sustainable design principles established by the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. It was the first LEED Certified project in the State of Kansas.
