1. What I'm getting (correct me if I get it wrong)
Is that steam would be white so this smoke isn't steam. It isn't caused by electricity because, although they've run the cables, they haven't sent any power through them because they have to be tested. So nobody knows what the grey smoke is.

And the spinach won't kill you unless you eat it every day but we're not allowing it to be shipped, anyway.

2. On reactor 3: No evidence of increased radiation since the gray smoke started
Smoke amount has decreased; was coming from area of spent fuel storage SE corner of top of #3 reactor

The level of radiation so far found in spinach/kakina & milk is higher than permissable levels but even if you ate them for a year wouldn't harm you.

But as a precaution they are stopping shipments, I believe i heard these prefectures: fukushima, tochigi, ibaraki, gunma.

already shipped products have no problem (they were shipped before earthquake).

can't say how long the measure will last it will depend on developments.

because product labeling is done by prefecture, the measure will apply to whole prefectures even though radiation has not been found in every location inside prefectures.

farmers/producers will be compensated.

a larger special task force to support earthquake/disaster victims has been formed.

radiation found in tap water in iitate, fukushima higher than permissable; avoid drinking but ok to use for other purposes. readings are going down.

ministries of health/agriculture to give follow-up pressers.

that's what i heard from the english translations at nhk/yosoko; missed some things

4. Thanks again for this. The farmers get compensated, how about 50,000 homeowners?
Edited on Mon Mar-21-11 04:42 AM by jtuck004
Perhaps 250,000 people now in shelters, not enough food and water, and now food supply from one area of nation being decreased.
Gonna be lots of compensatin' going on.

And they are upsizing the "special task force". Hope that's good.

6. Good. Now reporting smoke at #2 reactor as well. And that is the one
Edited on Mon Mar-21-11 05:31 AM by jtuck004
they were connecting electric to so they could use the pumps, because there wasn't a hole to pour water through.

That appears to have changed. Big enough home for smoke. Or they pulled the roof open to vent hydrogen, seems like I read talk of that.

Still sounds out of control.
