CNN told me we were going into Libya last week.

While using the apartment fitness room, I watched as Eliot Spitzer interviewed one hawk after another criticizing Obama for being late to respond as Khadafi slaughtered his own people. The ever present ex CIA head James Woolsey outlined the absolute need for action now, even though the President was asleep at the wheel. :sarcasm: As a viewer, I could not help for feeling guilty for not jumping on the war bandwagon earlier. The die was cast. It wasn't just Woolsey; it was Guiliana, David Gergen and other convincing fathers of Mideast wisdom. I should have known the corporate media would set things right and the military response was being put into motion as they spoke. Obama had no choice, you see. They were insulting his softness, his naivety. He had to act. The corporations had spoken through their media and millions were watching with mouths agape and eyes wide. We had to strike, with or without a UN agreement.

It reminded me of Iraq in the first war around 1990. You see, before cable news was able to feed the brains of our populace, the invasion of Kuwait would have likely gotten no more attention than page 2 of the Times for those reading world event columns. But instead, 24 hour cable news was there with Wolf Blitzer breaking down all the unrighteousness of this event and how dangerous it was for the world for Saddam Hussein to seize the Kuwait oilfields. Of course, Fox News was also instrumental in justifying the next Iraq invasion was absolutely necessary to disarm the evil Iraqi dictator of his horrible weapons of mass destruction. :sarcasm: Those Ws of MDs were indeed a threat to America, if not the entire world.

So I knew it was imperative last week that we respond immediately if not sooner. Even as Anderson Cooper reported live from Japan on the aftermath of the earthquake, Tsunami, and nuclear facility emergency, I knew that CNN had dutifully informed me of the need for action in Libya in the hours in between. :sarcasm: I, like so many millions of other watching Americans, then understood our next mission, and the cost or longevity be damned.

as soon as I heard Obama say "Gaddafi is has lost all legitimacy and should step down".



It's as if people just don't get Obama, and I'm not sure why.
