GA GOP Rep. Bobby Franklin Says America Is Like Qadaffi Because Abortion Is Legal

http://thinkprogress.org/2011/03/19/bobby-franklin-abortion-libya/

Yet as Georgia Politicos Dustin Baker notes, one state legislator raised a particularly odd objection to the No Fly Zone on his Facebook page. Reacting to a news article about Western strikes in Libya, Franklin asked, How would we like it if other countries launched attacks upon these United States because of our regimes war against the unborn? seemingly drawing a moral equivalency between Libyas Qadaffi dictatorship and legal abortion in the United States:

And earlier, Franklin mocked comments that dictators like Egypts Hosni Mubarak and Libyas Qaddafi were delusional, writing that Americans are the most delusional people on earth:

Franklin is no stranger to bizarre comments and advocacy. He has previously advocated for the abolition of drivers licenses and wanted to force women to prove their miscarriages happened naturally. Georgians who are fed up with Franklins antics have started a Facebook group called Bobby Franklin: Georgias Charlie Sheen.

Franklin ran without opposition in 2010 - http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Bobby_Franklin

btw he is also a Christian Reconstructionist like Sharron Angle ( article on angle http://www.slate.com/id/2264348/ )

1. One of my profs
Told me, years ago, that there would be problems with the religious right, eventually. His theory was that the kind of religion that these people believe in makes belief in improbable things a goal, short-circuiting reason and intelligence. From what I can determine, he had the right of it.

8. Isn't this the same guy who tried to reclassify miscarriages as murder?
Yet another small-town psychopath desperately trying to make front-page news.

he isn't only out to make a name. this dude is religiously motivated theocrat part of a movement that wants a christian flavored theocracy. the reason sharia freaks them out is not the restriction of women's rights and the like but that it isn't done in the name of their own deity.

Miscarriage Is Murder?
http://www.newschannel9.com/articles/fire-999405-women-representative.html

Representative Franklin has introduced House Bill 1, always the first measure on the House's list of issues to tackle every year since 2002. It's called the "prenatal murder" bill that would make abortion murder and in cases of miscarriage a woman would have to prove she didn't have "human involvement."
