Way more betterer. Like, the BEST, man. Ask Hannity.

26. I think the takeaway lesson is that any centralized concentration of power without accountability
tends to spend it's greatest amount of energy covering it's own ass - and that's true whether we're talking about any particular system or component(s) thereof.

2. And could you please do it quickly and quietly?
I'm trying to count money over here, I'm on hold with my lawyer's office to be sure I won't have to pay for any of this, and I'm composing a letter to my elected representatives to be sure they don't raise my tax rate. So, a little discretion on your part would be greatly appreciated.

Love and kisses,

I'm sure you understand..

Oh, and I'm going to need a truly massive tax break to pay for all my losses here.

7. One serious comment I'd make
I am very glad I'm not the one in the position who has to say, "That's it, we've done all we can, and we can't do anything more. Everyone inside this area is on their own. If you can get out, fine, but nobody else is going in. It's too dangerous." Because I think we're heading to that point, if we're not already there.

10. I'm not being facetious when I say in the last day or so the thought has crossed my mind that....
...there's a chance, albeit a very very very slim chance based on what I know of the situation so far, that that kind of decision might be made about places like Hawaii or even parts of the West Coast- obviously only in a worst worst worst case scenario.

However remote, the thought crossed my mind. And I quickly moved onto something else because I don't want to think of what would happen to even my nice little corner of America in such a circumstance.

22. Hmm no... Hawaii will get from global currents
well after the West Coast gets it... the trade winds are wrong for that this time of year.

The amounts on the West Coast, will be MUCH LOWER than what I got when I got my foot x-rayed when I broke it.

That said, getting canned milk is a good idea.

8. 1.6 million people in Japan right now have no water.
4,314 confirmed dead. 8,606 people remained unaccounted for, and close to 2,500 wounded last I saw. There's not adequate water, provisions nor shelter for an unnamed amount of people in Japan at this moment. Also, they're dealing with freezing cold on top of it all.

These people are also dealing with the fear or being exposed to radiation. The shelters are too full and they're saying there's long waits to be screened for exposure. They have every right to be angry and scared. My heart goes out to them.

28. I really hope this isn't another "Katrina"...
I practically fall apart--at the thought of people needing help--and continually being
told that "help is on the way" only to have them suffer needlessly while nothing is done.

I think I am still traumatized--watching the Katrina victims in such desperation--with no help when
help should have been there.

It is heartwrenching to think that the Japanese people will suffer because no one helped.

25. They don't give a flying fuck about any of us
That said this is no ordinary situation - earthquake, massive destruction from the tsunami and now this nuclear plant disaster - how to they get the people out or provide them with food, water, etc when the entire area is full of destroyed homes and vehicles.
I don't know what to say - this is a disaster of epic proportions.
