Lost city of Atlantic found?
Has Atlantis finally been found? That’s the recent claim of a group of researchers who say Atlantis, believed to have been swamped by a tsunami, remains buried in the mudflats of southern Spain. Their findings and claims will all be revealed on Sunday (3/13) as the National Geographic channel presents Finding Atlantis, the timing of which is ironic as the world still reels from the tsunami that slammed into Japan and ran through a wide area of the Pacific.

In “Finding Atlantis”, the National Geographic channel special will how how the US-led team of researchers used a satellite photo of a suspected submerged city to find the site just north of Cadiz, Spain. There, buried in the vast marshlands of the Doña Ana Park, the group composed of archeologists and geologists believe they pinpointed the legendary city of Atlantis.

According to head researcher, Richard Freund, not all of Atlantis’ inhabitants perished in the tsunami. Those that survived settled inland and built memorial cities in Atlantis’ image. This gave them further proof that Atlantis existed.

While the search for Atlantis has been an obsession for many, some still doubt whether it truly existed. No actual record of Atlantis exists. Only Plato’s “dialogues” contain information about the legendary city.

5. If the search engine were sorted by date, it would be easier to find and avoid duplicating.
anyway, why do people feel they need to announce this is a dupe.

(Same place: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marisma_de_Hinojos - though it's the Doñana National Park, not 'Doña Ana' as the blog ptus it). All that's new is that Nat Geographic has made a film about it.

8. Yeah there are some indications that.........
there are undersea ruins around Bimini. That's an area that would have been a seashore 11,000 years ago. Google Dr. Greg Little and his wife Lori (I think that's her name). They've done some very encouraging/enlightening/provocative research there.

Actually Atlantis COULD have covered quite a bit of territory. IF it existed as a seagoing culture, like the Phoenicians, then it wouldn't have been unusual to have had cities and influence in the entire mid Atlantic Ocean area.

This has always been an intriguing subject for me.

13. No
those were naturally occurring rock formations that they claimed were roads.

Atlantis was based on the Greek Island of Thera.

When are they going to find Noah's Ark...again?

naturally occuring rock formations NEVER EVEN INVESTIGATED THE FORMATIONS. He just a priori said, Atlantis is a myth and so they must be naturally occuring rock formations.

Anyway that's not ALL that's been found. There's a LOT more stuff that's been found since 1968.

I skin dived there. Naturally....formed....rock....formations.
Not a road.
Not "a guy" it's the geological and archeological communities have said so because that is what they are. No legitimate evidence otherwise.
It's called science.
