St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Members of organized labor came together Friday afternoon in downtown St. Louis for the 'Stop the Assault' Rally.

The rally was decry recent events in Wisconsin, in which that state's governor signed into law a measure stripping a teacher's union of its collective bargaining rights, as well as a push to make Missouri a "right to work" state.

Union workers claim such a move would take away their bargaining power and make it harder to acquire benefits. State legislators in favor of "right to work" laws say Missouri would be more a more attractive destination for businesses.

Rally organizers estimate approximately 4,300 people attended.
