1. The tax cuts are inappropriate in time of war.
Or do tea partiers think war is a freebie? Like government?

2. Oh, they took the cost of living increase from my SS in Jan....
They're talking (some of them anyway) about reducing defense spending, and getting rid of the tax cut for the rich, maybe in 2 years.

That oughta do it.

5. You have to realize all these deficit reduction plans are a front to get Repukes to cut programs
they don't like that help the poor and the middle class.

These Republicans don't want to cut the deficit, if they did, they would have to agree to major tax increases on the wealthy. Ain't gonna happen.

4. First, who gives a shit about the deficit

Second, if you really want to cut the deficit now, we have to let Bush tax cuts expire, cut defense spending, and create Medicare for all or atleast allow it to negotiate on drug prices like the V.A.

The deficit is largely caused by Bush tax cuts, the recession (have you forgot millions are still unemployed and not paying taxes?) and the astronomical cost of health care in the U.S. Deficit reduction is a fucking joke unless you address those problems specifically.

We have a revenue problem, not a spending one.

11. no I pretty much disagree with you over who it is making a stink about deficits

Obama is just a guy trying to please the other side. People say he's a smart man- but how smart can you be if you've been in office for over 2 years and haven't learned that republicans are never going to play nice with you?

12. why is Obama pretending entitlements are to blame for the deficit
The social security program is fully funded, with FICA taxes separate from income tax.

They have been stealing the money for tax cuts and wars. Now they don't want to put it back and are blaming baby boomers for the deficit. It is so absurd I could scream!!!!

13. Obama's administration has explicitly stated social security has nothing to do with the deficit
And remains completely untouched in his proposed budget.

Of course, you took some time to read up on his budget to see that, right?

7. I'm sure you know the plan is to force poor folk to kill themselves. It's quite obvious.
Not that it matters.

14. well, are you aware that there is a BIG difference between middleclass and impoverished class?
You will probably choose to call me "zombie" or some other sweet name, so I won't go further.

By the way... you know that calling people names *is* against the rules, right?
