General Strike Logo and Posters

The IWW in Wisconsin hired Eric Drooker to design posters for a General Strike, which he is told may be immanent. The "Industrial Workers of the World" asked him to create versions in Spanish and Arabic, for international solidarity. Please forward (& print) attached images widely, as you see fit, to union locals, blogs, websites, facebook, solidarity organizations,

Have they no knowledge of the field of propaganda? Otherwise, why choose a weak symbol?

12. Yes I like it too
some won't but each to their own.

Cats have been the protagonists of myths and legends from all over the world. and today people are idolising them again, though maybe not with that fervor of the Ancient Egyptians.

The Roman mythological personification of Liberty, -Libera was the cat

6. The Black Cat is an Anarchist symbol.
http://anarchistnews.org/?q=node/2354

Politically, the black cat was associated with anarchism, and even today it is a symbol of the workers' movement. In this instance the cat was depicted with an arched back with claws and bared teeth. Also called the wild cat or sabot cat, it suggests wildcat strikes and radical unionism. This logo was designed by Ralph Chaplin, who was prominent in the Industrial Workers of the World. The union fought to organize women and people of color and for the 8-hour workday in the early 20th century and is active today focusing on the rights of low-wage service workers. In 2005, the IWW became the first American Labor Union to successfully organize a Starbucks coffee shop.

7. Cat? Looks like the rest of the liberal support...trying to turn it into something that will purr
instead of something that will succeed.

Methinks an infiltrator is at work again.

9. The cat family is good
though I think a domesticated one defeats the purpose. I say move up to lion, tiger, puma or such.
