WI protesters sleep outside Capitol Building (despite temperatures in the low teens) - pics

MADISON, WI - MARCH 02: Police walk past a protestor sleeping outside the capitol building March 2, 2011 in Madison, Wisconsin. Demonstrators have occupied the capitol building and marched outside during round-the-clock demonstrations for more than two weeks, protesting Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's attempt to push through a bill that would restrict collective bargaining for most government workers in the state. When law enforcement officials began limiting access inside the building protestors began sleeping outside. Temperatures outside the capitol were in the low teens during the early morning hours.

firemen and lawyers, any and perhaps all of whom will one day work for the State of Wisconsin.

12. Where are the palm trees and shirtsleeves?
Billo had footage from what he claimed was Wisconsin on his show, that was supposed to show how violent all the protestors were. Granted, there were palm trees in the background, and people were out in shirtsleeves and tank tops, but that's probably due to global warming, and not because the footage was from something else going on in Sacramento, California, so stop saying that.

On a more serious note, good for our Badger brothers and sisters. This is an existential fight for the middle class and union rights.

and they need more food! Send more food!

Also, if possible, the people inside the capitol are being starved out. They are asking that people sneak in any amount of food they can. They do not want to leave the capitol or they will not let them back in.

28. Walker's ringers
Walker and his boss Koch hired ringers to make it look like his policies are popular.

http://www.theawl.com/2011/03/in-madison-scott-walker-packed-his-budget-address-with-ringers?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheAwl+%28The+Awl%29

Walker in particular, and repigs in general, are all becoming more and more like the most evil combination of the Keystone Kops, Mussolini, and Madoff one could imagine.

30. Nice photos at link too-

Needless to say, with no citizens allowed past the doors, and none of the rotunda's encamped protesters allowed past the first floor, the GOP had stacked the audience. So what if the move is declared unconstitutional now? Walker's address, and the heavy applause, has already been broadcast.

even businessmen in Wisconsin don't tend to wear black suits. Those ringers may well be from out of state.

street, "parked" in front of an 18-wheeler as if they were some odd sort of car. Not sure if they made 'em take those tents down or not.

As a retired teacher I have been watching the situation closely and feel such angst. No one ever puts the blame for this miserable situation where it belongs---on the Bush administration. Their cavalier manner of putting us into this huge debt and the consequences are seldom mentioned.
