7. Check everything you purchase

I accidentally bought some rope a month ago to put up tarps (purchased at Tractor Supply) and realized when I got home that it was a Kochroach brothers product.

I will be checking everything I buy from now on....they will not get one more dime from my poverty-ridden self. They have plenty enough, the greedy fucks. Why do they hate economic freedom for the rest of us?

8. I wish I had a list
... of not only what NOT to buy, but recommended brands I SHOULD buy. The RW corps are so big there are just too many products to keep track of, and not just for Koch Industries but, I guess, 3M now as well.

If I had a list like this I'd carry it with me all the time. Ideally it would be organized by type of product: Hygiene, Frozen Food, Kitchen Products, etc. It would have in the first column the brands to avoid, and in a second column brands that are OK with maybe exceptionally progressive companies having a little asterisk next to them. Some of the lists I've seen recommend brands that are too small and not available where I shop or are recommended because they are considered "green" or organic when that isn't necessarily what I want.

Can anyone recommend a list like that, or can some industrious person make one? I bet it would see widespread use. I just bought toilet paper the other day and forgot to consider whether it was a Koch brand. I want to be a more aware shopper in general and if I had a list like that always with me I think I could get in the habit of checking it.

Seriously guys, there's just too many RW corporations for me to keep track of what I should and shouldn't buy.

10. the vast majority of everything they sell is taken home in rail cars, trucks and ships/barges
Edited on Tue Mar-01-11 02:14 PM by Bardley
as unbranded raw materials, not consumer goods in shopping carts

it's why so many people have never heard of this incredibly huge privately held company, until their politics became more visible

not telling people not to boycott, just saying it will have almost zero effect

they are about the least consumer connected company in the country - they are at the raw materials end of the chain
