So . . . . Clown . . . . what is this magic of which you speak?

Well, I'll tell ya. Its this:

State some really fucking crazy, extreme shit. Get a lot of people to repeat it. Maybe even have the repeaters repeat it in ways that make it more crazy and more extreme. Whip 'em up into a frenzy of extreme extremeness.

Then make a bill.

Then refuse to give up a damn thing.

Make the opposition so afraid of you with your wild eyed extremitudinousness that they become powerless. If you're lucky, you'll make them leave town and go hide out in some secret clubhouse and cower.

Then you press it and bring it to the brink.

Then send one or two of your insiders over to the opposition's hideyhole. Have them talk sweet and get your opposition to "compromise" on the most insanely extreme part of the bill.

Get the rest of it - that which you really wanted in the first place - left in the bill.

Vote on the bill.

Get it passed.

Buy a round of beers for you and your batshit crazy, extreme fucking nutso friends.

Laugh about how you beat the opposition again.

Do this year after year after year after year. Do it for issue after issue after issue after issue. Always with the same result - success for you and defeat for them. Hahaha. Even when THEY are in power.

Hahahaha

BWAAAAAHahahahahaaaaaaa

2. You forgot "advertise the bill."
Amy Goodman this morning on Democracy Now! interviewed a Dem WI state senator who said Walkerites had already began pushing the bill through PR promotion before the WI elected officials had even seen the bill.

So apparently you first write the bill, have your PR forces up and going in an aggressive ad campaign, then submit the bill to your legislature.

Ain't Democracy grand?

5. This only works when...
...the "Opposition Party" is IN on the scam.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans.
I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans."
---Paul Wellstone

"By their works you will know them."

6. Remember the Health Care Bill
Democrats held the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives.

There are days when I believe the only reason the modern Democratic Party exists is to keep rebellion at bay.

7. The Health Insurers' Reward Bill was the virtuoso performance of this
It worked perfectly.

They even got our side to start the "negotiations" in the middle so we get to their side even faster than normal.

9. Funny you included pics of rummy and bush...cause I recall when they were gonna buldoze dead troops
into mass graves, and people were so outraged, that when they 'gave in'...we were happy our dead soldiers would get a proper burial...instead of protesting the war, we protested how the dead got buried!

10. It never fails, right?
Those guys are masters at it.

Our guys are masters at ineffectiveness and capitulation.

11. +1
I'd say that's because we don't really have any guys in the game. Anyone who truly wants to represent us at the presidential or senatorial level knows that this political system exists to keep us demobilized and nothing more.

12. Actually, there are a lot of Democrats that "pretend" outrage, cave like they are paid to,
and they all meet up at the countryclub for a drink and a laugh.
