Remember these letters? EFCA
It seems so long ago that this simple bill - the Employee Free Choice Act - was a right wing target. Every presidential aspirant was asked to state his/her view of it.

It has virtually disappeared from the national discourse. But Union Busting (minus EFCA rhetoric) is doing very well, thank you.

1. I voted for Obama because of what he and Biden said about EFCA.
So much for that.

4. Freed from the tyranny of collective bargaining
Workers are now able to be picked off one by one, with the more uppity ones serving as wretched examples for their more timid (and damned likely to stay that way, got it?) brothers and sisters.

5. EFCA ???...that is so pre-election 2008.
When he was pursuing the “labor vote” in Ohio’s Democratic primary, Barack Obama told a blue-collar crowd in Lorain:
“If a majority of workers want a union, they should get a union. It’s that simple. We need to stand up to the business lobby and pass the Employee Free Choice Act. That’s why I’ve been fighting for it in the Senate and that’s why I’ll make it the law of the land when I’m president of the United States.

I remember when Campaign Obama was against Free Trade, and was going to unilaterally renegotiate NAFTA.

I really had "hope" that we were electing a Pro-LABOR/Pro-Working Class President,
but I must have been one of those who "wasn't paying attention during the campaign."

8. More than just a retreat.
"Retreat" implies some type of battle, a loss, and a re-positioning.
EFCA and the Renegotiation of NAFTA just disappeared down the Memory Hole on Day One,
...never to be mentioned again.
No battle, no fight, no loss, no retreat....nothing,
like the words were never spoken, the promises never made.

I'm sure they had a few laughs about that behind closed doors.
EFCA, NAFTA, Organized LABOR??
Hahahahahahaha!
What are they going to do?
Vote for a Republican?

7. If you had paid attention when he was campaigning,
you would know that he really, really, really, really, truly wanted that, but you know he has the Senate and Congress to contend with. He certainly can't wave a wand and get it done. But it's a damn good chess move and besides he is so dreamy and the most progressive President ever.

So just add that to another long line of BS.

13. You just don't understand how government works.
It was ALL Joe Lieberman's fault.
They asked him nicely, and he said "NO".
What could Obama & The Poor Democrats do?

16. See, we can just pick a name.
That works. Plenty of names to chose from. Just remember, it's everyone else's fault.
