What We Receive?

I recently saw http://whatwepayfor.com and it's quite interesting. It makes me wonder, however, how tax receipts are broken down and, more specifically, how those receipts correspond with outlays. We have payroll taxes which were enacted to offset Social Security and Medicare, but on IRS.gov I wasn't able to find any historical breakdown. Would anyone happy to know where you can find that information?
