anyone else experiencing problems after the last windows vista update????
my laptop is set to automatically update when there are new windows updates.

ever since the last update a couple days ago, word shuts down when i try to make changes to a document layout or when i try to print. photoshop shuts down before it finishes starting up. other programs shut down when i'm trying to print.

anyone else experiencing this with windows vista?

2. My condolences...Vista on my Sony Vaio drove me to go MacBook Pro
I couldn't take it anymore.

Vista was the worst OS I've ever seen.

I'm running Windows XP Pro on my MacBook Pro when I need to (using Parallels software). Talk about best of both worlds...

3. Vista is bad however there is a registry scan tool at MS that helped me fix a
friend's laptop... I'll try to find the page for you.

7. I used a startup monitor and registry cleaner. Vista was just a dog.
Startup times on the Vista laptop were terrible. It would not even hibernate properly.

Thanks, though!

13. Well my friend's laptop kept bitching about the Ddraw.dll every time it booted,
and I checked the system32 folder and it was there, however it showed 0Kb as file size, there was a Ddrawex.dll that was a few hundred Kb but apparently that didn't make Windoze happy. I copied the Ddraw.dll from my laptop but Vista wouldn't allow me signed on as my friend (Admin) to write to System32 folder..... therefore I did all the free scans at MS, there were a few, then I disabled a bunch of startup crap, and finally "repaired" his installations of ITunes, it was one of the programs complaining about Ddraw.dll, and several others, apparently install programs are given a pass and everything went back to acceptable, boot time, shutdown time all things as good as it gets imho. I spent several hours on this project but it is what I like to do sometimes, I look at it as a jigsaw puzzle or just an insurmountable challenge. Wishing you luck with yours.

5. this may sound wierd but
try re-installing the update, make sure all AV stuff is disabled and all programs shut-down. you may want to try re-installing your printer driver before doing that, just in case.
