I go to the site to see what the deal in Wisconsin is, and they're leading with the fact "Teabaggers" have joined in counter protests. The fact that the fucking teabaggers have joined counter-protests is inconsequential, in my mind. If counter protests have grown, that's fine. Report that. But we haven't been told the political affiliations of these other protesters. All this does is lend some imaginary significance to the teabagger party. I don't think CNN is pro-teabagger, but I think they are typical of news organizations these days in that they get so wrapped up in the latest news fads, like the teabaggers, so they have no idea when to draw the line and know when it DOESN'T make a difference if you mention them or not.

Oye!

5. Yep, sometimes when the known loudmouths are off it's not too bad. I like Shepard
Smith, he seems to want to do a good job of reporting.

3. I was there today!
Maybe 500 of them at most. No one cared that they were there, and they were the ones shouting at us. Provoking us. I was alone, and made the rounds observing, checking things out. Along with marching in the circle. On my Mother's life there is nothing for these protesters to feel ashamed of. I was alone, a middle aged mom, a Union Thug, and it was fine.

4. Yup, and they said "40,000 people marched for or against the bill"
Making it seem like there were equal numbers of each. Pro-bagger BS.

6. Remember - throughout the health care screamfest
CNN had a fulltime exclusive bus following the tea party express around the country. They gave the tea party at least 5 to 10 minutes slots a couple of times per day of free publicity and kept referring to them a patriotic, fiscally responsible, blah...blah...blah Corporate overlords even at the mythical-liberal media do like the tea party. Even if you don't like MSNBC, their evening coverage of the tea party was by-and-large negative, though Morning Joe was gushing and Dylan Ratigan had good things to say about them. The media is NOT liberal despite what conservatives say. Anything that furthers corporations is covered (and praised) even on CNN and sometimes on MSNBC.

you aren't looking closely enough. CNN coverage of Teabagger events and protests has been far in excess of what their actual numbers would warrant.

12. You are right - I have heard that CNN is partnering with a Teabagging
group to co-sponsor a GOP presidential primary debate. So that is probably what is driving this.

14. CNN is a corporate sponsor of the TEA Party
they cover them constantly, no matter if there are only one or two of them, just as they would hawk another program.

15. Anyone with a functioning brain can simply LOOK at the television...
...and see that the 'liberal media' is ANYTHING BUT! That myth SHOULD be buried and gone after this, and replaced with the realization that it is the CORPORATE media.

But what is so sad is that I'm not going to hold my breath on it; people won't see that, even if you pulled out pictures and showed them, read transcripts of the comparison (like the 40,000 for and against tripe), and so forth. It's disgusting. It's disgusting because it's SO GODDAMN OBVIOUS! :nuke:

21. Egyptian State TV & newspapers reported on Lebanese protests as Tahrir Square filled up
No surprise in any case.. CNN is part of the big machine that feels threatened by popular mobilization, of course they're not supporting it.

22. Good point. Pretty telling
IMHO that's a sin of omission type of propaganda. If we don't see it on TV then it never happened.

Same as many other important issues that startd with the bogus NAFTA "debate"; Gore v. Perot.

23. They're being run by the guy who gave Glenn Bec k a TV show, Ken Jautz
Ken Jautz' project seems to be to legitimize the far-Right by giving them precious air-time. Read more about him here. His latest move has been to hire one of the tea party scandalmongers from Breitbart as a contributor:

http://www.newscorpse.com/ncWP/?tag=ken-jautz

Loesch is just the latest despicable decision by CNN’s new president, Ken Jautz. Jautz was recently promoted from HLN where he will forever be remembered as the man who brought Glenn Beck to television. He is a hack who is more interested in ratings than journalism, and with each new day is proving that he is unfit to run a news network.

Since moving up to CNN, Jautz has formed a partnership with Tea Party Express (TPE), a corrupt political action committee that is reviled by other Tea Party groups. This arrangement called for a them to co-host a Republican presidential primary debate. It also produced Michelle Bachmann’s (R-MN) embarrassing response to the State of the Union address. Those are two more examples proving that the Tea Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of the GOP. But TPE has some dirty laundry that needs to be aired.
