SC Republican:“If at first you don’t secede, try again.”
Continuing a pattern of attempts to assert South Carolina’s independence from the federal government, State Sen. Lee Bright, R-Roebuck, has introduced legislation that backs the creation of a new state currency that could protect the financial stability of the Palmetto State in the event of a breakdown of the Federal Reserve System.

Bright’s joint resolution calls for the creation of an eight-member joint subcommittee to study the proposal and submit a report to the General Assembly by Nov. 1.

The Federal Reserve System has come under ever-increasing strain during the last several years and will be exposed to ever-increasing and predictably debilitating strain in the years to come, according to the legislation.

10. Stop all Federal monies from going to the state
Let them have their own special currency, and they won't be able to spend it outside their borders. Any foreign business doing busines in the state will stop.

By the way Repugs, "Where are the jobs"?

5. All US funding, period. They'll fold faster than Superman on laundry day.
If there's one thing Republicans love more than ahem, *cough* *cough*, "principles", it's money.

22. And send the 82nd Airborne in to take over and occupy the state government in
Columbia. They obviously have not learned their lesson from the time when W.T Sherman and his boys tore up the town.

6. Let 'em go.... Sorry SC Duers...
Edited on Sat Feb-12-11 09:42 PM by hlthe2b
But if the teabaggers are determined to have their little experiment or the RW fundies want to try their hand at a theocracy, I say let 'em fail on a single state basis. SC would seem a good choice, since we could pull all US Federal facilities and bases, yet SC would have ports and the ability to fly out without disturbing the airspace of the rest of the US. They would thus be easy to "section" off.

9. I'm sure donor states

(most of which are blue) would be happy to let SC go. South Carolina has lived off the Federal Government long enough. How long are the tax payers of big blue states like Mass. NY and CA suppose to subsidize South Carolina and the Confederacy?

Thus defeating the whole purpose of putting laser beams on their heads? Unless we can raise them from the dead to create Zombie laser sharks.
