The MIC Is Crying They Don't have Enough Bucks
unhappycamper note: Since the ‘Pentagon’ (DoD? Gannett?) has ‘requested’ that I only post one paragraph from articles on Army Times, and Airforce Times, To keep in that same (new) tradition, I will also do the same for for articles on Navy Times, Marine Corps Times, stripes.com and military.com.
To read the article in the military's own words, you will need to click the link.

Read all about Fair Use here. It sure is beginning to smell like fascism.

unhappycamper summary of this article: As our country deteriorates around our eyes, the MIC wants more of your dollars.

Want some truth? Let's rename the 'Department of Defense' the 'Department of War'. Let's call it what is is.......

Marines from 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, are shown on a patrol in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Congress' failure to pass a 2011 defense budget bill jeopardizes new equipment for the military, defense leaders say.

Overall, the Army, Navy and Air Force say they would lose at least $26 billion if the spending level stays largely the same as 2010, compared with the larger 2011 budget request made by the administration.

1. I thought Gates called for cuts?
I guess it doesn't matter, no one in Congress is listening anyway.

3. Gates doesn't cut, he just shifts money from one area to another.

It's a shell game that's being sold as 'cuts'. That's so we won't realize military spending is increasing while home heating assistance is being cut.

2. This is insane,
Making such a big deal of what is less than one percent of their annual budget. Sad. Sadder still far too many people will buy this and not cut the military budget by one penny. Instead, they will continue to cut the budget for social programs, including SS and let the people starve and die.

8. What an bunch of double think bullshit
They are going to "lose" $26 billion by getting the same budget as last year. How do you get the same amount, but claim to be losing $26 billion?
